Madhya Pradesh has witnessed a radical transformation in terms of economic and social development. Madhya Pradesh’s central location makes it an ideal destination as a manufacturing and sourcing hub to tap the constantly growing Indian market. Owing to its rich soil, several rivers and large irrigation projects, Madhya Pradesh is a thriving destination for agriculture and food processing business. The state’s mineral wealth and skilled manpower enables setting up of heavy engineering companies. Having established a strong pedestal for rapid economic development, the people-centric transparent policies and hassle-free investment procedures in the state, are gradually making Madhya Pradesh a Global Investment Hub. The state has recorded an impressive growth in GSDP during the last decade supplemented by creation of a robust support infrastructure in terms of roads, water supply and irrigation capacity and 24 X 7 power availability. Madhya Pradesh has surplus of power with installed capacity of 18,917 MW in the state. It has 90 MCM water of Narmada water reserved for industrial purpose. The state also has 6 major Dry Inland Container Depot (ICD). Madhya Pradesh has created a total capacity of 170 lakh metric ton of warehousing. It also has 0.5 million metric of silo warehousing, a major success story in the country. These developments have proved to be beneficial for entrepreneurs, fueling the state economy with growth of manufacturing sector leading to increased employment opportunities, revenue, increased infrastructure investments and improved standard of living. The industries set up have been the backbone for a strong economical and infrastructural growth of Madhya Pradesh. Land availability is one of the key factors for setting up of an industrial unit. In Madhya Pradesh, one can choose from 48,000 hectares (1,18,610 acres) of Government land bank. Government land is available in three categories: 1. Developed Land 2. Developing Land 3. Raw Land/ Undeveloped Land 3 INDUSTRIAL LAND BANK 2016 The Commerce, Industry and Employment (CI&E) department of GoMP develops industrial land through Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam (AKVNs). Developed areas of AKVNs have all basic infrastructure facilities for industries. Developed/ Developing/ Undeveloped government land in industrial areas of Madhya Pradesh can be viewed through GIS (Geographical Information System). The online system helps for booking/allotment of vacant plots on: http://www.invest.mp.gov.in. This land bank book as well as the GIS based online system of land identification and allotment will prove to be useful for the investors. 4 INDUSTRIAL LAND BANK 2016 3 INDUSTRIAL LAND BANK AVAILABLE WITH GOVERNMENT OF MADHYA PRADESH Government of Madhya Pradesh has huge Industrial land bank. GoMP has around 48,000 hectares (1,18,610 acres) of land reserved for industrial purpose. Out of which approximately 16,324 hectares (40,337 acres) is developed land, 4,445 hectares (10,983 acres) is developing land and 27,249 hectares (67,333 acres) is undeveloped land. (Certificate of Incorporation) Since 2004, TRIFAC is functioning as Single Window Facilitation Centre for Investment promotion in Madhya Pradesh. MP Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigams (AKVNs) is a government of M.P undertaking and subsidiary of MPTRIFAC Ltd. The Nigam has been entrusted the responsibility of industrial promotion through development of Industrial Growth Centres in selected areas of its jurisdiction in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Industrial land in Madhya Pradesh is allotted through the AKVNs or DICs. There are total 7 AKVNs – Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, Rewa, Sagar, Ujjain. In Indore region, Smart industrial Park, Gems & Jewellery Park, New IT Park, Modern Integrated Park are few of the important areas which are developing. In Bhopal region, Plastic Park Tamot, Mohasa Babai, Kiratpur, Badiya Khedi are some of the important industrial areas which are developing. Another prestigious project Vikram Udyogpuri is developing in Ujjain region, part of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). The maximum number of industrial areas are in AKVN Indore region. The maximum share of undeveloped land parcel is available in Bhopal & Indore region. The fort was built by Great Maratha Queen Rajmata Ahilya Devi Holkar and her named in 1767 AD. Rani Ahliya Devi was a prolific builder and patron of Hindu Temple, monuments, Palaces in Maheshwar and Indore and throughout the Indian territory pilgrimages. Ahliya Devi Holkar ruled on the Indore State of Malwa Region, and changed the capital to Maheshwar in Narmada river bank. The study indicates that the Narmada river flows from East to west in a straight course through / lineament zone. The Fort had been constructed on the right bank (North Wards) of River. Geologically, the region is occupied by Basaltic Deccan lava flow rocks of multiple layers, belonging to Cretaceous in age. The river Narmada flows between Northwards Vindhyan hillocks and southwards Satpura hills.

    Build Your Own Success Story! FOREST OF MADHYA PRADESH As per the report (ISFR) MP has the largest forest cover in the country followed by Arunachal Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Forest Cover (Area-wise): Madhya Pradesh> Arunachal Pradesh> Chhattisgarh> Odisha> Maharashtra. Forest Cover (Percentage): Mizoram (85.4%)> Arunachal Pradesh (79.63%)> Meghalaya (76.33%) According to India State of Forest Report the recorded forest area of the state is 94,689 sq. km which is 30.72% of its geographical area. According to Indian state of forest Report (ISFR – 2019) the total forest cover in M.P. increased to 77,482.49 sq km which is 25.14% of the states geographical area. The forest area in MP is increased by 68.49 sq km. The first forest policy of Madhya Pradesh was made in 1952 and the second forest policy was made in 2005. Madhya Pradesh has a total of 925 forest villages of which 98 forest villages are deserted or located in national part and sanctuaries. MP is the first state to nationalise 100% of the forests. Among the districts, Balaghat has the densest forest cover, with 53.44 per cent of its area covered by forests. Ujjain (0.59 per cent) has the least forest cover among the districts In terms of forest canopy density classes: Very dense forest covers an area of 6676 sq km (2.17%) of the geograhical area. Moderately dense forest covers an area of 34, 341 sqkm (11.14% of geograhical area). Open forest covers an area of 36, 465 sq km (11.83% of geographical area) Madhya Pradesh has 0.06 sq km.

About 377 million (31%)1 of India’s population lives in 7,935 urban areas and contributes 63% of gross domestic product (GDP). About 70% of the urban population resides in 4682 rapidly growing urban agglomerations and cities with a population of over 100,000, including 53 cities with a population of more than a million. Growth in the remaining small towns was nominal. The contribution to GDP from the urban areas is expected to increase to about 75% as the proportion of urban population reaches 40% of the total population by 2030. 2. Urban water supply in India is characterized by intermittent water supply (often for a couple of hours in a week) and low coverage, high nonrevenue water, and poor cost recovery. No city in India can claim for universal coverage with continuous pressurized water supply. The service levels are even lower in small towns, which have been upgraded from village character to a town. These small towns mostly depend on local groundwater sources with no treatment and no planned hydraulic networks. The small town local bodies have been struggling with limited financial resources further aggravated by a lack of competent and skilled human resources capable of delivering services expected from a fully functional water utility. 3. The investment in urban infrastructure3 up to the year 2031 was estimated at $53.5 billion for water supply and $40.5 billion for sewerage services at 2009–10 prices.
