The town of Chinon is situated on the banks of the River in -et-Loire. This is a good example of a very seductive wine with aromas of fresh red fruit and violet notes – also some subtle sweet . Once in the mouth, there is plenty of fruit and freshness – lovely soft . Thanks to the higher acid levels and medium body, Cabernet Franc makes a very versatile food-pairing partner. Domaine de la Bergerie has been a family estate since 1964, recently Anne Guégniard has taken the lead to turn it into a 36 hectare organic . Le Cerisaie is a fantastic blend from Anjou – this wine is intense garnet red colour with beautiful purple tints. You will notice fabulous aromas of red cherry, raspberry and cassis. An elegant and fruity wine is supported by a slight tannic structure. Matches well with braised beef or charcuterie.

Region: Loire Valley – Chinon Grape: 100% Cabernet Franc Bottle Price: £13.50 Serve at: 14 - 16.5°

This wine is a considerable step up from the Chinon Les Galets 2015. From Marc Plouzeau’s best plot and hand selected bunches – this wine is aged for a minimum of 12 months on . The result is a wine with impressive structure, with beautiful aromas of red fruit and very smooth tannins. If you enjoy this wine, buy a 6 bottle case, then try 1 bottle a and see how it evolves. Try with – and if you fancy pushing the boat out, Côte de Boeuf.
