As a result, several new initiatives could be addressed. The following is a summary of the major development tasks undertaken.

SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE

2005 was a very interesting year for this committee with our major task being the unification of both women’s and men’s Hockey WA awards which kept the commit- tee occupied for a long period. Fortunately, the valua- ble experience and knowledge base of our committee enabled the presentation of all awards throughout the season to be completed in an effective and efficient manner. Westside Wolves and Universtity of WA line up for the Na- tional Anthem prior to the 2005 Goundrey Cup Grand Final. The other projects that the committee has had input into Photo: Alex Johnston were Challenge Cup Day, Grand Final Day and the Goundrey Wines Hockey WA presentation dinner plus ideas for better promotion of top WA hockey.

The committee would like to thank Alex Johnston from Hockey WA for his help during the year especially in regard to the organisation of the Goundrey Wines Hock- ey WA presentation dinner. It was an outstanding event and of the standard appropriate for recognising the achievements in hockey during 2005.

A special thankyou to Cameron Scadding from the board and the ladies of the committee Angela Babb, Anne Fuhrmann and Shirley Leece.
