The Australian Sports Commission is established in accordance with the Australian Sports Commission Act 1989. The objects, functions and powers of the Australian Sports Commission are prescribed in Sections 6, 7 and 8, respectively, of the Act. The Commissioners of the Board are responsible, under Section 9 of the Commonwealth Authorities and Companies Act 1997, for the preparation and content of the Report of Operations in accordance with the Finance Minister’s Orders 2009-10.
