Where is Tsukuba? Tsukuba (or ``Tsukuba Science City'') is located about 60km north of Tokyo and about 40km northwest of the Narita International Airport.

TRANSPORTATION: From Narita Airport We have not arranged any formal transportation to Tsukuba as there are good public options available from Narita Airport and . If you are coming from Narita airport you should plan to take the Airport Liner (Natt’s) bus. It will take about 100 minutes and the cost is 2540 Yen. DO NOT take a taxi! It will cost ~$300.00 US. Bus schedule From Narita to Tsukuba Narita Airport Terminal 2 7.40 9.05 10.35 12.50 14.30 16.15 17.20 18.45 20.10 Narita Airport Terminal 1 7.45 9.10 10.40 12.55 14.35 16.20 17.25 18.50 20.15 Tsukuba Center 9.20 10.45 12.15 14.30 16.10 17.55 19.00 20.25 21.50

You need to buy a bus ticket (costs 2540 JPY) before riding the bus. You can buy a ticket at the bus ticket counter that is located right after you come out from the customs check. • Tsukuba Center is not the final stop of the bus; The buses go to JR Station. You want to get off at the Tsukuba Center. • There are two terminals at Narita Airport. The buses go through the two terminals. • The hotel is within walking distance from the Tsukuba Center.

If you are coming from Tokyo: From Tokyo Station By Bus You can take highway bus at Tokyo Station, Yaesu South Exit. It takes about 1 hour and 5 minutes, but it might take more, depending on the traffic. Bus fare is JPY1150.

Most of the bus go to Tsukuba University, please make sure to get off at "Tsukuba Center." When you get off at Tsukuba Center, you cannot see the hotel itself from the bus terminal. Please look for the shopping mall called "Q't". (You'll find the letter "Q't" on the wall of the building.) The hotel is located behind the building.

From Tokyo, Train () Take either Keihin-Tohoku Line or Yamanote line and go to "Akihabara" Station (2nd stop from Tokyo: Tokyo -> Kanda -> Akihabara) It takes about 4 minutes, and costs JPY130. The trains are very frequent. Change train to Tsukuba Express from "Akihabara" to "Tsukuba." "Akihabara" is the 1st station and "Tsukuba" is the final stop so it will not be confusing. Please make sure to take one bound for "Tsukuba" (not "Moriya" or "Yashio"). It takes about 45 - 60 minutes and it costs JPY1150. There are rapid trains (1 or 2 lines per hour) and semi-rapid trains (2 to 5 lines per hour) and it would be better to take these trains. As for tickets, you need to buy a ticket from Tokyo to Akihabara, and from Akihabara to Tsukuba, separately. At "Tsukuba" station, please get out of the exit "A5." A5 exit is next to the shopping mall called "Q't" and the hotel is located behind the "Q't" See the labels A5 exit and Q't building on the map.
