The purpose of the Marshall Scholarship, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the British government, is to finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United Kingdom. The award covers tuition, fees, and a generous stipend. Typically, the award lasts for two years, but a limited number of one-year scholarships are awarded. Also, a third-year extension is available for the two-year Marshall in certain cases. Note that the Marshall does not fund undergraduate degrees, the MBA, the MSc/MFE in Financial Economics, the MSc in Global Health Science, the MPP at the University of Oxford, professional degrees, or degrees that require extended periods away from the university or the UK. We are grateful to our devoted friends.’ Dean Peter Tufano MBA Scholar Profiles 96 The MBA class of 2018-19 includes a diverse community of scholars who have received recognition and funding from a Scholars variety of Saïd Business School scholarship programmes. Our scholars not only receive funding to assist with the cost of the MBA programme, but also membership of a strong and diverse scholar community. They have access to a range 46 of exciting and valuable activities and opportunities such as Nationalities represented invitation to scholar and donor events and performing the role of ambassador for the School. These MBA scholar profiles give a brief overview of our scholars’ achievements to date and how they hope the MBA 53% programme will shape their future. Female scholars Skoll Scholars The Skoll Scholarships support MBA students who pursue entrepreneurial solutions for urgent social and environmental challenges. The scholarship provides funding for the pro- gramme fee and a living expenses stipend. In addition to fi- nancial support, the Scholarship provides access to the Skoll Scholar community, a group of leaders who are positively impacting the world through innovation and systems change, as well as exclusive opportunities to meet with world-re- nowned entrepreneurs, thought leaders and investors.
