  • Beyond the Black Are Most Certainly That. You're in Doubt?
Lost in Forever - LIVE Stratospheric? Beyond The Black are most certainly that. You’re in doubt? Let’s explain… …Only two years ago, dynamic frontwoman and world-class vocalist Jennifer Haben and her band colleagues celebrated their live debut on stage at the legendary Wacken Open Air 2014. A few months later they were supporting the legendary SAXON on their UK tour. On February 13th 2015 the band released their debut full-length album Songs of Love and Death, which hit the German top 20 album charts, and which was produced by melodic metal maestro Sascha Paeth (Avantasia, Edguy, Epica, Kamelot, Rhapsody). You’ve probably already guessed that the album was royally received throughout Europe, with Haben establishing herself as one of the leading voices in hard rock and metal music. Beyond The Black continued to conquer the road. They played their own headliner tour in spring and autumn 2015, and featured at several of Germany’s biggest rock & metal- festivals. Momentum is beautiful thing; Beyond The Black supported Queensrÿche in Holland and Within Temptation in Switzerland, and their incredible ascent culminated in them receiving the “Best Debut Album 2015” Metal Hammer Award. • Welcoming the Black Sheep by George Lings – Director of Church Army’S Anglican Church Led for Many Years by John Research Unit Simons
Issue 4: Welcoming the black sheep by George Lings – Director of Church Army’s Anglican church led for many years by John Research Unit Simons. (Oddly enough, I know John because we both were called out of work for the Bank of Foundations and calling England into life in the Church of England.) Having made a profession of faith at the age of eight, Mark was later part of the youth group, Mark Broomhead, the founder of The Order of yet also at home in the adult church as a the Black Sheep (TOBS), was born in 1971. member of Deanery Synod. This is one instance Looking back across his life it is not difficult to see of what seems like his effortless ability to the beginnings of the apparently disparate combine unlikely elements as though they were strands that have become connected and entirely natural. significant in what has emerged since 2006. This trait continued, in that from the years eight to 12 he discovered and appreciated the music of the heavy metal band Judas Priest. I admit complete ignorance of this band and genre. That academically dubious yet ubiquitous source of information, Wikipedia, tells me that after inauspicious years since their founding in 1969, Judas Priest made their mark around 1980 and the years immediately following. An album of that time, British Steel, is said to be their long- term best seller. This induction to that overall culture, with attendant dress and patterns of socialising, followed in Mark’s teenage years. It provoked the question, sharper in those days, of whether - let alone how - heavy metal and Christian faith could be combined.

  • PK 2 Hamburg Beatles History.Pdf (253.4
MEDIA INFORMATION NO HAMBURG, NO BEATLES: THE HISTORY OF THE FAB FOUR IN HAMBURG From the evolution of the Hamburg Sound to today’s club scene On 17 August 1960, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Stuart Sutcliffe and Pete Best played their first gig at the Indra Club in the legendary St Pauli district of Hamburg. Mark Lewisohn, the acclaimed Beatles author, aptly commented “No Hamburg, no Beatles”. The Beatles, some of whom were still minors in the beginning, spent two years in Hamburg, with only a few breaks in between. Here, they laid the foundations for their global career. Following their debut in 1960, the Beatles played in Hamburg more often than anywhere else in the world – with 300 concerts, five contracts with four different music clubs, and about 1,200 hours spent on Hamburg stages. John Lennon once said “I grew up in Liverpool but I came of age in Hamburg”, and this is arguably the story of the Beatles in Hamburg in a nutshell. It all began with a shock. When The Beatles got their first engagement in Hamburg on the 17th of August 1960, they where full of anticipation. The Hanseatic City was considered to be the perfect place to make good money by giging. And the Reeperbahn was the incarnation of adventure for those naive from Liverpool. Where nowadays countless cutting-edge music clubs line the neon bright streets, back in the day, the audience craved for all night entertainment – especially for exciting music, such as Rock‘n‘Roll and it‘s British exports.

  • Exploring the Chinese Metal Scene in Contemporary Chinese Society (1996-2015)
"THE SCREAMING SUCCESSOR": EXPLORING THE CHINESE METAL SCENE IN CONTEMPORARY CHINESE SOCIETY (1996-2015) Yu Zheng A Thesis Submitted to the Graduate College of Bowling Green State University in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of MASTER OF ARTS December 2016 Committee: Jeremy Wallach, Advisor Esther Clinton Kristen Rudisill © 2016 Yu Zheng All Rights Reserved iii ABSTRACT Jeremy Wallach, Advisor This research project explores the characteristics and the trajectory of metal development in China and examines how various factors have influenced the localization of this music scene. I examine three significant roles – musicians, audiences, and mediators, and focus on the interaction between the localized Chinese metal scene and metal globalization. This thesis project uses multiple methods, including textual analysis, observation, surveys, and in-depth interviews. In this thesis, I illustrate an image of the Chinese metal scene, present the characteristics and the development of metal musicians, fans, and mediators in China, discuss their contributions to scene’s construction, and analyze various internal and external factors that influence the localization of metal in China. After that, I argue that the development and the localization of the metal scene in China goes through three stages, the emerging stage (1988-1996), the underground stage (1997-2005), the indie stage (2006-present), with Chinese characteristics. And, this localized trajectory is influenced by the accessibility of metal resources, the rapid economic growth, urbanization, and the progress of modernization in China, and the overall development of cultural industry and international cultural communication. iv For Yisheng and our unborn baby! v ACKNOWLEDGMENTS First of all, I would like to show my deepest gratitude to my advisor, Dr.

  • ALBUMFACT BEYOND the BLACK ”Heart of the Hurricane“ Out: August 31St 2018
ALBUMFACT BEYOND THE BLACK ”Heart Of The Hurricane“ Out: August 31st 2018 Beyond The Black – symphonic metal full of energy, straightforward and without any compromises! Their engines are hot, and roaring straight into the “Heart Of The Hurricane”. The title of the third album is not just a catchy phrase – it’s a promise. It’s the result of two years of work skyrocketing the band to the next level, along with a tasty appetizer for their upcoming live appearances. Their debut “Songs Of Love And Death” from 2015 has already struck like a bomb. It was in the Top 15 of the German Album Charts for weeks on end, and received honors suchs as the prestigious German “Metal-Hammer Award” for “Newcomer Of The Year”. The follow-up “Lost in Forever” from 2016 was an even bigger success and hit the German Charts at number 4. This led Beyond The Black on a wide spread, and almost always sold- out, tour hitting Germany, the UK, Russia, Japan and far beyond. Since 2014, the band has been thrilling their fans as a regular guest at Wacken Open Air and was a celebrated support act for Aerosmith, Korn, the Scorpions, Saxon, Within Temptation and countless other top international acts. In 2017 one of the biggest German TV-Stations, Sat1, chose “Night Will Fade” as to the title track for the successful series “Die Ketzerbraut”. That opened Beyond The Black up to millions of new listeners and when singer Jennifer had a cameo appearance in the series, fans could finally put a face to the name.

Is it just the Music? Towards an Understanding of Festival-goers and their Experience at UK Music Festivals by Alyssa Eve Brown PGCert, BA (Hons), FHEA A thesis submitted in partial fulfilment for the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the University of Central Lancashire April 2019 i STUDENT DECLARATION FORM Concurrent registration for two or more academic awards I declare that while registered for the research degree, I was with the University’s specific permission, an enrolled student for the following awards: Post Graduate Certificate in Business and Management Research Methods Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Material submitted for another award I declare that no material contained in the thesis has been used in any other submission for an academic award and is solely my own work Signature of Candidate ______________________________________________________ Type of Award PhD__________________________________________________ School Lancashire School of Business and Enterprise ii Abstract Festivals are an adventure of the emotional and physical senses and can create unforgettable, exciting and thrilling memories of unfamiliar and unique experiences. With music festivals in particular, there is an additional emphasis on the chance to experience live music by often idolised musicians within a temporary community of shared musical interests. However, whilst a music festival may attract visitors through advertising an attractive and appealing line-up of popular acts, this far from guarantees a happy customer. There are many other elements that contribute to and impact upon the experience of the festival-goer (Morgan, 2008: 83). If these elements are managed well, this can result in benefits for both the consumer, through positive emotional and cognitive experiences, and for the organisation through repeat custom, recommendations and increased sales.

  • TARCHON FIST Bandinfo
TARCHON FIST Bandinfo: Pic by Alessandra “La Ruffiana” Zani Tarchon Fist stands for top-class masterpieces in traditional 80’s Heavy Rock, Heavy Metal and True Metal style. In ancient myths and legends, Tarchon was an etrurian king, a hero - and also a god: The god of the storm! The name Tarchon Fist underlines the power and the impact of the band on stage. Formed by guitarist and song writer Luciano "Lvcio" Tattini in Bologna in 2005 after the split of the 80's band Rain, Tarchon Fist's reputation to unleash irresistable, rousing 80‘s Heavy Metal atmosphere by their songs and performances led to a contract with the label My Graveyard Productions in 2007. Guest musicians who appear on the group's first two albums "Tarchon Fist" (2008) and "Fighters" (2009) include also well-known artists such as Cliff Evans (ex Tank; ex Paul Di'Anno), Tom Naumann (Primal Fear), Robb Weir (Tygers Of Pan Tang) or Dean "Deano" Robertson (ex Tygers Of Pan Tang). After a change of line up with Mirco "Ramon" Ramondo on vocals and Sergio "Rix" Rizzo on guitars, the disc "Heavy Metal Black Force" (My Graveyard Productions) came out in 2013, followed by the 10 years' anniversary album "Celebration" (2015, Il Male Production / Pure Steel Promotion) which contains a new song called "Celebration" and the best of the band's classics of the first decade and was partially re-recorded with the new band members. From 2010 to now, the line up of Tarchon Fist has remained the same except for the new drummer Giacomo "Jack" Lauretani who joined the band in 2016.
