The Native American tradition, the tribal religions of Africa, the sophistication of Hindu belief and practice and the more recently revived Japanese tradition, Shinto, are widely acknowledge as the authentic native animistic tradition of their respective areas. In marked contrast, the European native tradition, from the massive civilizations of Greece and Rome to the barley documented tribal systems of the Picts, the Finns and other norther margins of the continent, has seen as having been obliterated totally. I examine three significant roles – musicians, audiences, and mediators, and focus on the interaction between the localized Chinese metal scene and metal globalization. This thesis project uses multiple methods, including textual analysis, observation, surveys, and in-depth interviews. In this thesis, I illustrate an image of the Chinese metal scene, present the characteristics and the development of metal musicians, fans, and mediators in China, discuss their contributions to scene’s construction, and analyze various internal and external factors that influence the localization of metal in China. After that, I argue that the development and the localization of the metal scene in China goes through three stages, the emerging stage (1988-1996), the underground stage (1997-2005), the indie stage (2006-present), with Chinese characteristics. In ancient myths and legends, Tarchon was an etrurian king, a hero - and also a god: The god of the storm! The name Tarchon Fist underlines the power and the impact of the band on stage. Formed by guitarist and song writer Luciano "Lvcio" Tattini in Bologna in 2005 after the split of the 80's band Rain, Tarchon Fist's reputation to unleash irresistable, rousing 80‘s Heavy Metal atmosphere by their songs and performances led to a contract with the label My Graveyard Productions in 2007. Guest musicians who appear on the group's first two albums "Tarchon Fist" (2008) and "Fighters" (2009) include also well-known artists such as Cliff Evans (ex Tank; ex Paul Di'Anno), Tom Naumann (Primal Fear), Robb Weir (Tygers Of Pan Tang) or Dean "Deano" Robertson (ex Tygers Of Pan Tang). After a change of line up with Mirco "Ramon" Ramondo on vocals and Sergio "Rix" Rizzo on guitars, the disc "Heavy Metal Black Force" (My Graveyard Productions) came out in 2013, followed by the 10 years' anniversary album "Celebration" (2015, Il Male Production / Pure Steel Promotion) which contains a new song called "Celebration" and the best of the band's classics of the first decade and was partially re-recorded with the new band members. From 2010 to now, the line up of Tarchon Fist has remained the same except for the new drummer Giacomo "Jack" Lauretani who joined the band in 2016.

DISTINGUISHING POSSIBILITIES FOR METAL SUB-GENRES Izvorni znanstveni članak / Original Scholarly Paper UDK: 78.036 "19/20" aBStraCt The different sub-genres of metal music, which have formed in the last decades, are not only of interest due to their diverse and unique characteristics, but also evidence a variety in metal music whereby its clichéd black and gloomy world gains a bit of color. This multitude of sub-genres will inevitably lead to musicians, fans and even researchers no longer being able to differentiate between the genres. With Viking, pagan, and folk metal, this interesting process of fusion is already taking place, although it is possible to distinguish Viking and pagan at least from folk metal. Keywords: instrumentation, metal sub-genres, musical analysis, popular music introDuCtion During the last few decades many different metal sub-genres have developed, from the classic, and especially from the extreme, metal genre. Comprising bands such as Ensiferum, Finntroll, Korpiklaani and Turisas – surprisingly only Finnish bands – so-called folk metal is one of these sub-genres, which became part of the metal mainstream during the 2000s.1 For Spracklen the popularity of Finnish folk metal is based on commercialization, while other possible reasons could be the national distinction from Norwegian black and Swedish death metal, or, at least in Finland, a phase of increased inclusion of folk elements in popular music. “The combination of a nationally institutionalized folk tradition and the transnational genre of […] metal”2 is also mentioned by Neilson as a reason for the success of Finnish folk metal.
