Middlesex County and the Municipality of Middlesex Centre
Middlesex County and the Municipality of Middlesex Centre have completed a Schedule ‘C’ Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) to identify potential streetscape improvements to Glendon Drive, County Road 14. The study area extends from the Thames River Bridge through the communities of Kilworth and Komoka to the Highway 402 interchange. The Class EA has been undertaken in accordance with the planning process outlined in the Municipal Engineers Association, Municipal Class EA (2000, as amended in 2007, 2011, & 2015). Study recommendations include a range of intersection and corridor improvements including: • Road widening along the length of the • Signalized intersections at Tunks Lane, corridor; Crestview Drive, and Springfield Way • Roundabouts at the intersections of (when warranted); Glendon Drive with Komoka Road, and • Improvements to reduce through traffic Jefferies Road; along Old River Road and improve safety • A realignment of Coldstream Road to meet conditions at its intersection with Glendon Glendon Drive at Springfield Way; Drive, along with bank stability improvements. Public Information Centre (PIC) No. 1 was held on November 26, 2015, PIC No. 2 was held on June 27, 2016, and PIC No. 3 was held on November 30, 2017. The study also included consultation with review agencies, Indigenous communities, and other stakeholders. The Environmental Study Report (ESR) documenting the decision-making process and environmental impacts and mitigation measures has been compiled and by this notice will be placed on public record for the statutory 30-day public review period from Thursday June 28 – Friday August 3, 2018. (F) Information Manager of Economic Development Subject: NEW ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS BACKGROUND: County Council approved the 2014- 2019 Economic Development Strategy in April 2014. The recommendations contained a variety of marketing activities to support the County's business attraction, retention and expansion efforts. The strategy recommended finding new and interesting ways to share business success stories and community data. It also included making enhancements to the Invest in Middlesex website and available properties tool. ANALYSIS: The Community Profile is a foundational document for economic development offices. It provides an overview of Middlesex County including maps, demographics, labour force data, transportation, infrastructure and education for prospective investors, existing businesses planning expansions and key influencers. The 2014 Community Profile includes the most recent data from a variety of sources and encourages readers to access additional information on the Invest in Middlesex website. The profile is available in print and digitally as a pdf and flipbook. The pdf and print documents were designed to meet accessibility guidelines. The Lure Brochure highlights the key benefits of investing in the community and features successful Middlesex businesses chosen to show the diversity of business across the County. Videos The business park marketing has been expanded with the addition of aerial videos of all eight business parks in the County. The aerial videos provide viewers with additional context by showing neighbouring businesses, roadways and other features of the sites. -

UPPER THAMES RIVER ASSESSMENT REPORT Section Summary - 8.0 Great Lakes Section Summaries The Assessment Reports for the Thames-Sydenham and Region are large summary documents compiling information from many technical reports. These technical reports include Water Budgets, Watershed Characterization Reports and many Source Protection Technical Studies related to municipal drinking water systems. That information has been summarized and compiled into Assessment Reports of the Region. Each section of the Assessment Reports has been summarized in a series of Section Summaries. 8.0 Great Lakes The Clean Water Act (2006) requires that an Assessment Report and Source Protection Plans consider Great Lakes Agreements, if a Source Protection Area (SPA) contains water that flows into a Great Lake (Section 14). The Upper Thames River SPA is landlocked and has no Great Lakes shoreline. It is surrounded by the Ausable Bayfield Maitland Valley and Lake Erie source protection regions, as well as the Lower Thames Valley SPA. The Thames River originates in the Upper Thames River SPA and continues through the Lower Thames Valley SPA where it outlets into Lake St. Clair, which in turn outlets into Lake Erie through the DUFFERIN YORK WELLINGTON PEEL WELLINGTON Detroit River.
