Dokumentace První brněnské strojírny, Královopolské strojírny, Zbrojovky Brno a Zetoru Brno zahrnuje stručný historický přehled vývoje do konce předrevolučního období, analýzu porevoluční transformace během devadesátých let a podrobnější hodnocení vlastního hospodaření firem v novém tisíciletí. Práce uvádí souvislosti mezi vývojem podniků a města Brna. Z vybraných kapitol práce byl vytvořen učební materiál vyuţitelný ve výuce na základní škole. Vytvořené pracovní listy umoţňují ţákům seznámit se s problematikou a zdokonalit se v práci s informačními zdroji. Klíčová slova strojírenský, průmysl, vývoj, město, hospodářství, Brno Abstract Diploma thesis deals with the development of four historically significant Brno engineering companies from their inception to the present day. Documentation of První brněnská strojírna, Královopolská strojírna, Zbrojovka Brno and Zetor Brno includes a brief historical overview of their development by the end of the pre-revolutionary period, the analysis of post- revolutionary transformations during the nineties and detailed assessment of their own economy in the new millennium. The paper presents a connection between the development of companies and the city of Brno. The selected chapters of the thesis were to develop teaching materials usable in teaching at the elementary school. Created worksheets allow pupils to become familiar with the issues and improve their use of information sources.

Recording of serial numbers for Enfield muskets, .577 Sniders and .450 & .303 Martini rifles & carbines is essential for your own records (insurance, registers, &c.) however the numbers stamped on the butt or even on action bodies are rarely the firearm's serial number. Rack or issue numbers were stamped on the right side of the butt, or marking disk (.303 arms only), on the buttplate tang (Sniders & Enfields only) and on the action body itself (Martinis in NZ), usually atop the receiver ring. While rack or issue numbers help identification, they are not the firearm's serial number. Until 1st January 1925, the master number of a firearm was that on the barrel rather than the action body. On Sniders and Martinis, the serial number is not visible and removing a fore-end to see the number on the barrel or front inside of the body can damage wood furniture, especially if the securing pin (a la M.H. Mk I & II, M.M. & M.E. too) has rust on it. M.H. serial numbers are found on the inside right, front of the body while .303 conversion numbers used the left side. So as to match critical parts, serial number was also stamped under the rear sight leaf (and fore-ends, nosecaps, bolts, of Lee-Enfields too).
