JCA Spirit Raffle September 1, 2011 – October 12, 2011 A HUGE thank you to all who continue to support our annual Spirit Raffle. The first place prize of $5,000 went to JCA science teacher Greg Vogen, 2nd prize of $2,500 to Ray Barton (’49), 3rd prize of $1,500 asked to remain anony- mous, and 4th prize of $500 to Geri Russ. The top five student sellers were Melissa Bruggeman, Amy Koncar, Laurel Stofan, Drew Voss and Nolan Hucek, respectively. The Spirit Raffle provides 25% of the $1 million gap we have for the cost to educate a student and the tuition we charge.

Food Drive October 2011 In its sixth year, JCA’s annual fall food drive donated over 7,500 pounds to the local church pantries of St. Patrick’s, St. Bernard’s and St. John the Baptist. The food drive was held during October, with students bringing donations to their homerooms. The senior class ended up with the most pounds and received a dress-down day as a prize. Members of the Varsity Club, including players from the Hilltoppers’ football team, helped deliver the food under the supervision of teachers Celeste Mackey and Suzi Arnett.

Jubilaté - “JCA’s March Madness” March 10, 2012 The JCA family celebrated another successful fundraising event at its 27th Annual Jubilaté held on March 10, 2012 at Bolingbrook Golf Club, under the guidance of Chris Voss. “March Madness at JCA” involved teamwork and dedica- tion provided by a committee of parent volunteers. Success was achieved by the generosity of our guests, sponsors and donors for whose “gifts” we are forever grateful!

The heart of the evening consisted of the Adler Family receiving the Joliet Catholic Academy Recognition Award for their selfless contributions, motivated by their faith, to our school. Jubilaté 2012 realized over $164,000 which was directed to our operating costs that directly impact our Angels and Hillmen. The quote from Mike Krzyzewski (Duke University) summarizes our gratitude, “Making shots counts, but not as much as the people who make them.”

JCA 5K RUN and WALK May 20, 2012 The 2nd annual JCA 5K Run and Walk was a huge success! Thank you to all who came, ran, walked, volunteered and in any way supported this amazing event. JCA is so very thankful for all of your support. As last year, all pro- ceeds benefit the Helping Hands Tuition Assistance fund, which is designed to help current JCA families in need.

Joe and Jodie Adler sent six children – Daniel (’72), (’73), Jackie (’75), Chris (’76), Michael (’78) and Jay (’82) through St. Patrick’s Grade School, JCHS and SFA.
