Kathy Sicher Recreational Awards Hershey Youth Association Tenure with Organization: Chris Luttrell 10 years Hershey Aquatic Club Kathy was one of the founding mothers to develop the Hershey Youth Field Tenure with Organization: Hockey Association. Kathy has shown tremendous leadership by nurturing 12 years the League into what it is today, bridging the gap between youth & high school, developing a summer youth camp, and coaching well aer her Chris has been a xture in youth aquatics development not just in Hershey, but daughter graduated from the program. in the region for over 30 years. Her career included service with four local swim teams, including former Head Coach at Heathereld, Asst. Coach at Mount Dave Warner View, Instructor at Palmyra, and numerous board and committee assignments Hershey Youth at both the club and league level. is includes serving on the Board of Football Association Directors at Hershey Aquatic Club both as a director, and, from 2014-2017 as the President. In the past decade, Chris has also served as the meet director for Tenure with Organization: many swim meets and league championships when hosted in Hershey. 20 years Dave has served as a coach at some level for all 20 years he has been involved; serving as the Head Coach of the Midget program for over a decade. He is a Fran Bonenberger past HYFA Board member and an incredible advocate for the kids and HYFA. Hershey Jr. Bears Tenure with Organization: Robert Eismann 50 years Hershey United Lacrosse Association Fran has been a major factor in the success of the Hershey Jr. Bears House Tenure with Organization: League which has more than 250 children participate annually. 20 years In addition to being the current Vice Chairman, Fran has served on the Board of Governors for more than three decades, holding the role of President for Robert demonstrates leadership throughout the entire girls lacrosse program, many years. e Hershey Jr. Bears Quebec Team credits Fran as an integral part including new tournament development. Always willing to help out, Robert of their team, missing only one trip in nearly thirty years. helps in preseason organization and scheduling, manages league artwork and graphics, and represents Lacrosse at league meetings.

Larry Nelson Joy of Sports Champion Award Hershey Little League Tenure with Organization: 2 years Scott Govern Athletic Director Larry serves as lead for the functions of eld maintenance and Derry Township School District concessions with Hershey Little League, and has been an Assistant Coach for three years. His involvement has helped HLL in making signicant improvements to all elds. Scott Govern, a multi-sport athlete in baseball, basketball, and football in high school, has been an Athletic Director for 19 years, serving Biglerville High School, Boiling Springs High School, Spring Grove Area High School, and currently, Hershey High School. He also has coached youth, recreational, junior and senior high school, and college Doug Brown athletes in football, baseball, cross country, and track & eld for over Hershey Soccer Club 20 years.

Scott’s tenure with DTSD has been characterized by leadership, Doug is a dedicated volunteer for the Hershey Soccer Club, serving the enthusiasm, and selessness which have rippled throughout the Club by running the recreational program for 13-18 year olds, as well as student body to reach all of our interscholastic and rec athletes, as running Referee School Training and organization for both the 5-12 and well as our community at-large. Fittingly, in 2018 Scott was a Top 10 nominee for Varsity Brand ‘Most Spirited Athletic Director’ in the 13-18 year old groups. United States.

Matt Mandia Director, Derry Township Parks & Recreation

Matt was born and raised in King of Prussia Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation Administration and a Master’s Degree in Regional Planning from California University of Pennsylvania.

He began his career as the Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Williamsport, Pennsylvania where he oversaw all recreational services oered by the city and was instrumental in the revitalization and renovation of historic baseball eld known as Bowman Field. He was also very involved with securing a single A baseball team from Geneva New York to call Bowman Field their home.

Matt has been the Director of Parks and Recreation for Derry Township since April of 1994. During his 24 years, he has worked to create a professional department that focuses on providing quality of life services for the residents of Derry Township, and has taken great pride in the expansion of programs, working with our youth sports organizations, overseeing our parks system, fostering the development of the Jonathan Eshenour Bicycle and Pedestrian trail and all facilities operated by the department.
