The two Chanukkiyot demonstrate two different customs in lighting the lamps or lights of Chanukah: one for the Mizrachim, and others say Sefardim is to have eight lamps but without a Shammash. This Chanukkiyah was a wall model with two holders for Shabbat oil lamps or candles. The second Chanukkiyah appears to have been of Polish or Eastern European manufacturing, probably before World War II, and then at some time later, a music box was installed in the base. When wound up, the Chanukkiyah Good times at Gratz plays the familiar “Maoz Tzur” or “Rock of Ages.” How Rabbi Dov acquired this second music box Chanukkiyah is a story told to the students, a beautiful tale of a Jewish couple, kn which the eife converted to Judaism in the early 20th century.
