Skilled engineers deputed in SMUs are given special training for the job. These SMUs are equipped with Depot level repair kit, relevant tools and test equipment. Further, it was observed by SMU team GP RF Amplifier designed by SMU that in case of New Antennas (Normarc) Hyderabad the coupling factor is ≈30dB resulting in the reduced signal level at MRU input. Page 4 of 12 CMC NEWSLETTER THIRD ISSUE FEBRUARY 2020 Consequent upon the advise of RCDU, Third Party (Non-AAI) repair works for SMU Hyderabad ILS team has designed Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) Nashik three (03) RF Amplifiers which were inserted in three Monitor RF paths thereby achieved desired gain of ≈12 SELEX ILS modules of HAL, NASIK qty. ATSEP Officers from SMU, Chennai visited Mangalore to conduct 5 days revalidation training on ILS Indra Navia NM7000B for ATSEP at Mangalore Airport in the month of November 2019. ATSEP officers from SMU, Chennai played active role in conducting theory Rat Protection back panel for OCU P/O and practical of Ab-initio training and Schmid VCCS developed by SMU examinations for the inducted Senior Hyderabad Assistants (May 2019 to July 2019). SMU Hyderabad Mopiens team visited . ATSEP officers from SMU, Chennai Bhavnagar &Teju Airport and successfully visited CATC, Allahabad to conduct” restored the standy by channel of Train the Trainer” program on ILS Mopiens HP DME. (INDRA NAVIA NM7000B) for five days (14-10-2019 to 17-01-2019) and SMU Chennai successfully completed the training program. SMU Chennai is involved in repairing of following CNS equipment for which no designated SMU is available . Some of the repairing works are listed as : Mains Distribution Unit of SMR, qty. 03 of ASMGCS were repaired . MTS panel of SITTI VCCS, qty 04 of Chennai were repaired . ICOM VHF transceivers ,Qty 04 of Cochin Airport were repaired . Power supply unit of MACE NDB of Pondicherry was repaired . Drake VCCS position electronics power supply unit - Qty 03 of Guwahati Airport were repaired . We came into existence in the year 1969 with a meagre strength of about 3000 men for providing security to Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and Government Installations. Today we have grown up to a strength of about 1, 05,000 officers and men and taken up a multi faceted role in the field of internal security which includes Airport Security, Security of Government Building, Monument Security, Disaster Management, VIP Security and security of critical installations like Delhi Metro in addition to our traditional role of providing industrial security. Currently we are providing security to 277 units including 56 domestic and international airports spread all over the country. We also have a Fire Wing which looks after the fire protection and fire prevention services of 77 units with a strength of about 5000 well trained man power. Hitherto our services were only available to Government Organisations and PSUs but by amendment in CISF Act the Government of India has permitted us to offer Consultancy Services in the field of Security and Fire Protection to public as well as private sector. Accordingly we have a Consultancy Wing located at our Force Head Quarters, which is ISO 9001: 2000 certified and offers its Consultancy Services to both the Government and the Non Government Organizations.
