ADVISORY: U.S. Senate Debate, Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2018 The two leading candidates in the U.S. Senate election will appear in a 60‐minute debate on KENS‐TV (CBS) in San Antonio on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 8 pm CT. The debate features incumbent U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R‐Houston and U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke, D‐El Paso. EMBARGO: KENS‐TV will make the debate available to other TV and radio stations, but a live broadcast embargo exists for radio and television stations in 10 Texas TV markets. The broadcast may only appear live on the listed television stations below in the following markets: Abilene: KXVA‐TV Austin: KVUE‐TV Beaumont: KBMT‐TV, KJAC‐TV, Corpus Christi: KIII‐TV Dallas/Fort Worth: WFAA‐TV Houston: KHOU‐TV San Angelo: KIDY‐TV San Antonio: KENS‐TV Tyler: KYTX‐TV Waco‐Temple‐Killeen‐Bryan KCEN‐TV, KAGS‐TV All other stations in non‐TEGNA markets may use the satellite and streaming link to broadcast the debate live. Radio stations in such markets should rely on the livestream for audio. Stations in TEGNA markets may delay broadcast the debate or use portions as part of subsequent newscasts.
