Born in Abilene, Texas in 1938, Williams spent his youth divided between living with his 1938 father in Oklahoma and his mother in Oregon. In high Oklahoma school, he sang in the choir and formed his first group, an a capella quartet that did the 1950’s City style pop and rock & roll music of the era.
