It is with great pride that we wish to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Ducati with you. We would like to commemorate this milestone with a visual journey through the realm of Ducati style. 2016 is a very special year for Ducati and, as I write, I feel the same intense sensations that I get each time I ride one of our motorcycles. It is with pleasure and it is an honour to be able to dedicate this volume to each reader with whom we wish to celebrate our 90th anniversary. A collection of photographs which traces our history through the attention to style and design that has always been the hallmark of our brand. Since the day we started manufacturing engines and motorcycles, design has represented a key aspect of the approach we adopt. We have always interpreted the needs and trends of each era and this has made us what we are today: a brand which is recognised and admired the world over. Retreading the tracks of our past you can trace the origins of what Ducati represents today. Our values are an intrinsic part of each minute detail: from the bodywork finish, to the geometry of the frame or the shape of the fuel tank, to the seductively flowing lines. Style, Sophistication and Performance: these are the values that govern the guidelines of what we do, to be found in every Ducati motorcycle. I also want to seize the opportunity of such a special occasion to thank all the women and men who have contributed relentlessly towards making Ducati such a great name. A brand which has grown precisely because of this passion we share: a unique and distinctive trait which comes to life in the constant quest for excellence. So now it’s time to invite you to discover our history through this incredible visual journey. This is our way to celebrate Ducati design. Claudio Domenicali Amministratore Delegato CEO Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A. Designing a motorcycle is a complex business, designing a beautiful motorcycle is a difficult task, creating a Ducati is a significant challenge. Being Director of the Ducati Style Center is truly a great honour for me. It makes me feel incredibly proud, but it is also very challenging. Together with the team of designers we are well aware that each of our tasks must live up to a unique history because our creations are and will be compared to style icons such as the 916, the Monster or the Panigale. We are well aware that our goal is not a mere exercise in style, but a quest for the winning solution which brings technical aspects, performance, accessibility and beauty together as one. Every motorcycle we build has to demonstrate that it possesses the brand’s DNA. Sport has to run through its design: full of adrenaline, muscly, flowing, technical. A design which needs to look pure, essential, with no frills. Able to convey a sense of lightness, ultimate performance and riding pleasure. Something which at first glance suggests the emotions to be felt when riding the motorcycle. The shapes of our design must be unique and inimitable, so as to fuel the pride and passion of our fans. Just as unmistakable and powerful as the colour that is ours: red. But above all our motorcycles must be beautiful. Sensually yet discreetly so, without being slaves to a short-lived trend. Ducati design is unique also because it emerges in every single detail, each of which is conceived, sketched and developed “with love”, as we like to repeat. All you can do is fall in love with a Ducati. Time and time again. When you see one in a photo. When you get on it and touch it. When you open the garage and there it is, waiting for you every morning. When you get on and ride off. This book is an evocative story told through images – a sequence of unique shots that highlight the aesthetic value and the design lines of our motorcycles, showcased like real works of art. We are portraying the evolution of Ducati design in 19 steps – each corresponding to one model: from the Cucciolo through the 916 up to the 1299 Panigale S Anniversario. A unique story that enhances all the beauty, purity and power of Ducati style.

DG-1507-E Rev. 2/2017 Ducati: In Pursuit of Magic (A) On the first business day of January 2006, Federico Minoli pulled up and parked his Ducati Multistrada motorcycle in front of the Ducati headquarters in Bologna, Italy. As he looked up at the complex, which housed offices, the assembly factory and the Ducati museum, he reflected back on the company’s history. 2006 would mark several anniversaries: 80 years since Ducati was established to produce electronic radio equipment; 60 years since Ducati had been producing motorcycles; and ten years since Minoli had become the company’s CEO. Minoli joined the then near bankrupt Ducati in 1996, and led its turnaround by creating the “World of Ducati,” a world that involved superior engineering, Italian heritage, slick design and an undeniable attraction for racing enthusiasts to “join the tribe” and become “Ducatisti.” See the video: Ducati’s advertising (length: 1’50”) Revenues moved from €195 million to €380 million from 1996 to 2000. EBITDA improved from a loss to €60 million in the same period. However, in the five subsequent years, business results stalled: revenues fell 2.3% on a compound annual growth rate from 2000 to 2005, and EBITDA fell to -€273,000 at the close of 2005. In late 2005, an agreement was signed by shareholder Texas Pacific Group to sell its 30% stake in Ducati to InvestIndustrial Holdings SA and a syndicate of other investors, with the understanding that Ducati would pursue a capital increase of €80 million. Minoli was certain that the new shareholders would demand certain changes to cut costs and get the company’s growth back on track.

I was part of the Bellevue Suzuki-Ducati dealer crew in the 90's that had the pleasure to unveil the first of the 1995 Ducati 916 Superbike to the public here in the Pacific NW and Cafe Veloce hosted the event. A night with no real visual media aides, no brochures and really 0 availability beyond the 5 we were promised from Ducati NA. So we brought our first two, one stripped down to reveal the naked beauty of the new SBK and the other was ready to bring to life right after the event and let the first lucky new owner ride away, the crowd cheered as he roared away Did you miss your chance to own one? It is getting harder and harder to find a clean example with minimal modifications and good mechanical bill of health. This one we feel is the real deal, we gave it a good inspection, the fluids were all fresh, we were asked to replace the timing belts as that was something the owner did not choose to take on himself. While we were replacing belts we pulled intake cam to inspect rocker arms, all had been plated. Checked compression, 165lbs even in both cylinders, this is a healthy motor. We did find some slight scratches on the left side of the fairing, they were covered with Agip stickers, no other damage found.

  • Evoluzione Motori Ducati Bicilindrici Con Quattro Valvole Per Gruppo Termico (08) Molti Propulsori Di Serie Ad Elevate Prestazio

  • Ducati Museum
Ducati Museum Past and future, challenges and successes, vision and determination: the Ducati Museum is a journey through the legendary 90-year history of the Company, renowned across the world for its style, performance and the search for perfection. Each product is a work of art. A story told using language composed of shapes and colours, emphasised by delicate, ethereal staging. An intense adventure, in which every bike exhibited becomes a true work of art to be experienced. The new Ducati Museum is characterised by its very modern concept, in which the colour white dominates so as to ensure that the product takes centre stage, with no distractions. Each bike exhibited is a work of art, a story told using a language composed of shapes and colours and emphasised by dedicated installations. In addition, the new Ducati Museum exudes the Ducati brand identity of Style, Sophistication and Performance. With its new look, the Ducati Museum is a journey through legendary Ducati history, to the heart of a company in which every product is conceived, designed and created to provide unique emotions. The new Ducati Museum has an entire area dedicated to some of the most iconic road bikes that have contributed to making the company’s history so great. And it is here that the story of the so-called “production bike” is recounted in its entirety, or rather, the conception and development of the project in very particular technological, economic and social contexts. This leads to the Museum’s new narrative, developed according to three paths: the history of Ducati production bikes and the social and cultural context in which they are conceived; the racing history with exhibits including race bikes and winners’ trophies, and finally the ‘Ducati heroes’, or rather the Ducati riders themselves.

  • Storia Ducati
