Products distributed from these facilities have been harvested from forests that meet stringent environmental, social and economic Platinum Prime™ premium finish standards. This includes distribution of mouldings and millwork in solid wood lineal pine, fingerjoint lineal pine, and MDF. Qualifies for LEED™ credits Moulding & Millwork, looking to the future, has joined the US Green Building Council (USGBC). The US Green Building Council, in conjunction with the Canada Green Building Council, are working to “transform the way buildings are designed, built and operated, enabling an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy, and prosperous built environment that improves the quality of life in communities”.
The USGBC has developed the LEED Green Building Rating System. LEED, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, has established credible and consistent standards for sustainability in the built environment, using a point rating system for construction projects.
Moulding & Millwork, through our manufacturing facilities and affiliates, have the ability to provide products that may contribute to LEED rating points in the following areas: Professional grade MDF • Materials & Resources, 4.1, 4.2, 5.1, 5.2, 7 • Indoor Environmental Quality, 4.4 mouldings and boards To help ensure future generations of having sustainable forest resources, Moulding and eco-friendly too! & Millwork is working closely with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA), the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), & the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) on timberlands throughout Canada. Our goal is to provide 100% of material from www.speromouldings.com certified forests in all of our operations in North America. This product will qualify for LEED™ credit as a “Low Emitting Material” under the indoor air quality provision EQ 4.4, for “Recycled Content” under MR 4.1 and 4.2, and when applicable for “Local/Regional Materials” under MR 5.1 and MR 5.2.

1 ARCHITRAVES: In classical architecture, it described the main beam resting on the tops of the columns. Today it is often used as a decorative moulding for Glossary of Terms ornamentation or finishing at the top of windows and doors.
