Foreword The environmental protection of product has gradually become an influential factor to affect the global economy, and which is also the direction of electronic industry. As for our company, we have communicated about the control of dangerous matters related to environmental protect technology with several world famous companies . So in order to follow the related laws/rules and manufacture the excellent green products, our company establish this technology standard . BizLink Green Concept: Eliminating and preventing environmental pollution. Abiding by and enforcing environmental laws and regulations. Actively spreading the idea of environmental protection and being the green messenger of the environment. Contributing to the protection of the environment. PURPOSE: This standard refers to some customers’ newest environmental protection standards such as SS-00259 (SONY) , H00594 (Microsoft) , ENV0424(DELL) and the relevant laws and regulations like EU ROHS,REACH, POP etc.It defines banned substances, Substances planned to be abolished, substances outside the scope of the object in parts, equipment, etc of a BizLink product in order to Preventing their mixture to BizLink products Abiding by and enforcing environmental laws and regulations. Protecting the environment of earth. Achieving the mitigation of impacts on ecosystems. SCOPE: This specification is suitable for finished products and the following components and materials which form the finished products with environmental control. 4 Environment Technical Standards 2018-1-26 , BEM-1-06 H3 Edition / Revised Dept.: QA TERMS AND DEFINITIONS 3.1 The Environment Controlled Substances: Among the substances contained in parts and devices: “The Environment Controlled Substances” are the ones which BizLink judges that “They have remarkable impacts on both humans and the global environment.” 3.2 Management Standards The following three levels are used to managing. Management Definition Standards It should be banned immediately for use in parts and materials at this level from the Level1 substances to their usages. It should be banned during a not-long time for use in parts and materials at this level from the substances to their usages. Level 2 Once the deadline is coming, the substances will be classified at level 1.and the substance at level 2 must be reported, including the name of the substance and its’ content. Although there is currently no date target for the total waste, the use of the parts, the substances contained in the material and their uses are specified.it is judged that replacement parts can be established. The product which is judged to be a Level 3 substitute 、 developing material and substitute technology is changed to 2 grade, gradually realize the whole waste; If the components of the product supplied to BizLink contain a class 3 substance, make a report and propose a specific name and content of the substance 3.3 Exception: The substances and their use classified as Exception are those not regulated by or exempted from laws, or there is no substitute for the substance and the use of the technical Programme. 3.4 Contained: “Contained” is a situation in which a substance is added to, blended with, fills up, adheres to the parts or devices employed in products, or the materials used for the parts or devices, no matter whether the situation is intentionally created or not.(when a substance is unintentionally contained in , or added to a product in a processing process, this situation is also regarded as Contained) 3.5 Impurity: Impurity is a substance that including the following two types:One generated in a natural material, which cannot technically be removed in a refining process totally(i.e. natural impurities);and another generated in a synthesis process, the total removal of which is technically impossible. Additionally, in order to distinguish it from the main raw material, when a substance called "impurity" is used in order to change the properties of the material, it is also treated as "contained”.However, the substance called Dopant is intentionally added to manufacture semiconductor devices, but there's only a tiny remnant,so it is not treated as contained but as impurity .When the Controlled Substance is specified in this Standard, the concentration must meet the standards even if the substance used as an impurity, mingles with or adheres to parts or devices. 5 Environment Technical Standards 2018-1-26 , BEM-1-06 H3 Edition / Revised Dept.: QA 3.6 Homogeneous Material: A homogeneous material is made up of one or more substances(e.g. an alloy is a homogeneous material which is made up of a number substances).Per the latest EU commission guidance on ROHS maximum concentration values(July 2004), “homogeneous material means a material that cannot be mechanically disjointed into different material”. Homogeneous material consist a uniform composition or phase and include plastic, alloys, finishes, glass, ceramics, etc. 3.7 Date of Prohibition Of Supply: This indicates the date on which parts and materials are prohibited from supplying to BizLink.

The utility of lead and lead compounds was discovered in prehistoric times. Lead has been used in plumbing and tableware since the time of the Roman Empire. Lead usage increased progressively with industrialization and rose dramatically with the widespread use of the automobile in the twentieth century.

  • Lead: Properties, History, and Applications Mikhail Boldyrev¹*, Et Al
WikiJournal of Science, 2018, 1(2):7 doi: 10.15347/wjs/2018.007 Encyclopedic Review Article Lead: properties, history, and applications Mikhail Boldyrev¹*, et al. Abstract Lead is a chemical element with the atomic number 82 and the symbol Pb (from the Latin plumbum). It is a heavy metal that is denser than most common materials. Lead is soft and malleable, and has a relatively low melting point. When freshly cut, lead is silvery with a hint of blue; it tarnishes to a dull gray color when exposed to air. Lead has the highest atomic number of any stable element and concludes three major decay chains of heavier elements. Lead is a relatively unreactive post-transition metal. Its weak metallic character is illustrated by its amphoteric nature; lead and its oxides react with acids and bases, and it tends to form covalent bonds. Compounds of lead are usually found in the +2 oxidation state rather than the +4 state common with lighter members of the carbon group. Exceptions are mostly limited to organolead compounds. Like the lighter members of the group, lead tends to bond with itself; it can form chains, rings and polyhedral structures. Lead is easily extracted from its ores; prehistoric people in Western Asia knew of it. Galena, a principal ore of lead, often bears silver, interest in which helped initiate widespread extraction and use of lead in ancient Rome. Lead production declined after the fall of Rome and did not reach comparable levels until the Industrial Revolution. In 2014, annual global production of lead was about ten million tonnes, over half of which was from recycling.

  • INORGANIC and ORGANIC LEAD COMPOUNDS 1. Exposure Data
P 039-074 DEF.qxp 09/08/2006 11:04 Page 39 INORGANIC AND ORGANIC LEAD COMPOUNDS Metallic lead and several inorganic and organic lead compounds have been considered by previous working groups convened by IARC (IARC, 1972, 1973, 1976, 1980, 1987). New data have since become available, and these are included in the present monograph and have been taken into consideration in the evaluation. The agents considered in this monograph are some inorganic and organic lead compounds. 1. Exposure Data 1.1 Chemical and physical data 1.1.1 Nomenclature, synonyms, trade names, molecular formulae, chemical and physical properties Synonyms, trade names and molecular formulae for lead and some inorganic and organic lead compounds are presented in Table 1. The lead compounds shown are those for which data on carcinogenicity or mutagenicity are available or which are commercially most important. The list is not exhaustive. Selected chemical and physical properties of the lead compounds listed in Table 1 are presented in Table 2. Lead (atomic number, 82; relative atomic mass, 207.2) has a valence +2 or +4. The alchemists believed lead to be the oldest metal and associated it with the planet Saturn. Lead is a bluish-white metal of bright lustre, is very soft, highly malleable, ductile and a poor conductor of electricity. It is very resistant to corrosion; lead pipes bearing the insignia of Roman emperors, used as drains from the baths, are still in service (Lide, 2003). Natural lead is a mixture of four stable isotopes: 204Pb (1.4%), 206Pb (25.2%), 207Pb (21.7%) and 208Pb (51.7%) (O’Neil, 2003).
