A few studies have investigated the survival rate of HD patients in Iran. Hence, we decided Shahrzad to investigate the survival rate and it is predictors among Iranian ESRD patients. Methods: This is 1 a retrospective cohort study conducted in 165 HD patients in Tuyserkan city (Hamadan province) Nematollahi , 2 during 20 years from 1996 to 2015. The checklist used to gather information was comprised of Zahra Zobdeh , patients’ demographic and clinical information. The analysis was performed using Kaplan–Meier Vida Sheikh3, curves, log‑rank test, and cox regression model. Results: The most prevalent cause of ESRD was Mohammad Ali st th reported to be high blood pressure (32.7%). The probability of survival rate at the end of 1 , 5 , and Mansournia1 10th year was 0.65, 0.16, and 0.05, respectively. Results of multivariate cox regression showed that Research Center for Health old age, catheter vascular access, and high hemoglobin level have a negative significant effect on Sciences, Hamadan University survival of HD patients (P < 0.05). Conclusions: Overall, the survival of HD patients seems to be of Medical Sciences, Hamadan, low in Tuyserkan as compared to other studies. Age, ESRD cause, vascular access, marital status, and Iran, 1Department of hemoglobin level among other factors are proved to have a significant effect on survival probability.

  • The Modeling and Prediction of the Quality of the Groundwater Resources in Tuyserkan Plain Using the Optimized Artificial Neural Network
J Adv Environ Health Res (2020) 8: 107-118 DOI: 10.22102/jaehr.2020.210891.1150 ArchiveORIGINAL of SIDPAPER The modeling and prediction of the quality of the groundwater resources in Tuyserkan plain using the optimized artificial neural network Mohamad Parsi Mehr1, Kamran Shayesteh1,*, Kazem Godini2 1. Department of Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Natural Resources and Environment, Malayer University, Malayer, Hamedan, Iran 2. Environmental Health Research Center, Research Institute for Health Development, Kurdistan University of Medical Sciences, Sanandaj, Iran Date of submission: 07 Dec 2019, Date of acceptance: 25 Jan 2020 ABSTRACT Tuyserkan plain is an important agricultural plain located in Hamadan province, Iran. Despite the severe decline of the water levels in aquifers, the quality of the plain has not been evaluated in recent years. The present study aimed to analyze the data of 15 wells during 12 years to evaluate the quality of groundwater in this area using the Wilcox diagram for the aquifer. The electrical conductivity (EC) of the plain was interpolated using the Kriging method to evaluate its spatial distribution since this parameter has caused a decline in the quality of the groundwater in the plain. According to the findings, the EC value was higher in the eastern parts of the plain and Tuyserkan city, which was described as the spatial distribution of the parameter. The Pearson's correlation-coefficient was used to assess the correlations between EC and other parameters. To predict and model the EC value, multi-layer perceptron artificial neural network (MLP-ANN) were used. According to the results of the Pearson's correlation-coefficient, the reduced number of the data led to the decreased expenditures of the experiments in obtaining the input data.
