Date: July 20-24 Location: Voting takes place at Festival Headquarters on Seneca St. This contest is open to all children ages 1-3 years old. A prince and princess will be crowned for Oil Heritage 2009. Parents, Guardians, and Grandparents can submit a wallet-sized photo by July 17 th to YOUth Alternatives. Photos can be sent by mail or dropped off to 1 Graff Street, Oil City or 1243 Liberty Street, Franklin. Please include the child’s name, age, birthday, parents name and address, and a phone number where you can be reached on Friday, July 24 th at 6pm. Voting will take place at Festival Headquarters on Monday, July 20 th until Friday, July 24 th from 8am until 4:30pm each day. Voting is done by the donation of money. The boy and girl who raise the most money will be crowned Prince and Princess. First place will each receive a $75 savings bond and runners up will each receive a $20 gift certificate to Wal-Mart.

A Walk through Historic Downtown Oil City Chairperson: Kay Dawson Co-Chairperson: Carrie Richey Date: July 22 Time: 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM Location: Starting Location will be the National Transit Building Rain Location: Cancelled if Raining This is a walking, self-guided tour through Oil City’s North Side. You will visit former establishments to discover interesting trivia about Oil City’s downtown and its history. Tour requires plenty of walking, please come prepared.

Oil Heritage Arts & Crafts Show Chairperson: Chamber Staff Date: July 24 Time: 11AM- 7PM Location: Seneca Street Hit the street for this year’s Oil Heritage Arts & Crafts Show! This years show features high quality crafters and demonstrating artists selling pottery and primitive crafts among many other unique items. Food will be available on the streets by local restaurant establishments and food vendors. This project is supported by the Council on the Arts, a state agency, through the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA), its regional arts funding partnership. State government funding for the arts depends upon an annual appropriation by the Pennsylvania General Assembly and from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. PPA is administered in this region by the Venango Center for Creative Development.

Windy River Band Date: July 24 Time: 5-6:30PM Location: Evening Concert in Justus Park Windy River is a blend of four musicians from various musical backgrounds that came together to form this unique and extensive of sounds from classical country songs such as Tennessee Waltz to a foot stomping rendition of ZZ tops La Grange. The band formed in early 2000 and is enjoying ever growing demands and a sizable fan base. Their three vocalists offer popular interpretations of Country, Country Rock, Ballads and Rock. Watch for these four fun loving musicians in the Western Pa- Eastern Ohio area from Clarion to Erie.

Divided Highway Date: July 24 Time: 7:30-10PM Location: Evening Concert in Justus Park The Divided Highway band plays an eclectic mix of Oldies, Country, and Rock. The band is made up of five musicians who have collectively played in local bands for over 100 years.

2009 Oil Heritage Festival Parade “Oil 150” Chairperson: Kevin Berry Sponsor: Henry B. Suhr, King’s Landscaping and Polish National Alliance Date: July 25 Time: Noon - 2PM Location: West First Street to Seneca Street Join us for Venango County’s largest festival parade with bands, floats and clowns! This year’s theme is “Oil 150” in celebration of the 150 th anniversary of Edwin Drake’s first commercially successful oil well. The parade is professionally judged and open to all age groups. The parade begins at the intersection of Orange and West First St, and will conclude on Seneca Street. Sam Gordon of WKQW 96.3FM will emcee the parade live in front of National City Bank on Seneca Street. All entrants must pre-register. Roslyn Date: July 25 Time: 3-4:30PM Location: Afternoon Concert in Justus Park Oil City Graduate Greg Butler (drums) and longtime friends Brooks Cullum (vocals/guitar), Pedro Aida (guitar/backing vocals), and Alex Smith (bass) form the band “Roslyn”, a fresh sounding pop-rock band. Roslyn has achieved much success in a short time period winning contests in the Richmond, VA area. The band’s influences range from The Beatles to Jimmy Eat World to The Kooks. “Rosalyn will capture your ears with driving hooks and melodious vocals.” – STYLE WEEKLY

Southern Knights Date: July 25 Time: 7:30-10PM Location: Evening Concert in Justus Park The Southern Knights Band has been entertaining locally for the past 29 years. Band members include Rick Sabousky on lead guitar, John Omiatek on piano and synthesizer, Dan Feroz on drums, Frank Feroz on bass guitar, and Jennifer Pardee on lead vocals. This band plays multigenerational music, ranging from the 70’s through today’s top songs. Five vocalists bring a multitude of flavors to the band’s distinctive harmonies, creating a great sound that appeals to all audiences. This year we will be collecting a $1 admission fee from those 13 years of age and older. Children 12 and under are free and must be accompanied by an adult. Oil Heritage Festival Basket Raffle Beautiful themed baskets valued at hundreds of dollars will be raffled off Sunday, July 26 th during the finale concert.
