Následne sa práca sústreďuje na vývoj konkrétneho esportu, ktorým je herná séria Counter-strike od herného štúdia Valve. Práca si kladie za ciel zmapovať tieto oblasti z historického hľadiska a vytvoriť akúsi chronologickú časovú os. Táto os prechádza témou elektronických športov k hernému štúdiu, ktoré vytvorilo mnoho titulov zohrávajúcich dôležitú rolu vo svete elektronických športov a následne ku konkrétnej hre od tohto štúdia – hry Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. V práci budem neskôr analyzovať túto konkrétnu hru, pričom sa zameriam na jej vývoj, dôležité aktualizácie, kľúčové udalosti, problémy spojené s hrou, ktoré ovplyvnili esportovú scénu a komunitu tejto hry. Budem na tieto oblasti nahliadať očami komunity a budem sa snažiť zistiť, prečo je herná séria Counter-Strike aj po dvadsiatich rokoch stále jednou z najpopulárnejších herných sérií vo svete esportu. Následne sa sústredím špecificky na profesionálnu stránku tohto esportu, kedy porovnám denný režim a tréning profesionálnych hráčov hry Counter-Strike: Global Offensive s denným režimom profesionálnych hráčov hier Overwatch a League of Legends. Budem sa snažiť odpovedať na otázky: Ako sa líši tréningový deň profesionálneho hráča hry Counter-Strike: Global Offensive a deň iného profesionálneho hráča? Aké sú rozdiely medzi tréningami profesionálnych tímov FPS a MOBA hier? V práci budem čerpať predovšetkým z elektronických zdrojov, ktoré budú zahŕňať hlavne webové stránky, videozáznamy, archívy patchov a updatov a dobové recenzie. Pri sérii Counter-Strike budem taktiež čerpať zo svojich niekoľkoročných skúseností s touto sériou. 2.1 Kapitoly V úvode práce najskôr definujem určité pojmy spojené so svetom videohier a esportov, na ktoré sa odkazujem v priebehu práce. This chipprovides a more secure card for cardholders and helps prevent security fraud. One of the features on the new card will be its prepaid capability. Students will be allowed to have funds placed on the card which they can use at the vending machines, the cafeteria, the bookstore and Dunkin Donuts. Financial aid funds can also be placed on your card. If you happen to misplace or if your card is stolen, Bergen will be able to deactivate your card immediately. For Bergen faculty members, they will be allowed to swipe their cards for entrance into their offices and other rooms in the building. This is one of the main focus points for security. This feature will keep a record of who was entering offices and at what time.

This follows a series of inter-related transactions, which saw Enthusiast entering into an M&A arrangement with J55 Capital Corporation and Aquilini GameCo way back in May. At the same time Aquilini was in the process of acquiring Luminosity Gaming, a global player in the esports industry. Once Aquilini acquired Luminosity, J55 acquired Aquilini and then subsequently merged with Enthusiast. The final result was the creation of one of the largest publicly traded esports and gaming organizations in the world.i Earlier in May, two console gaming heavyweights — Sony and Microsoft signed a memorandum of understanding to develop joint cloud gaming systems. The agreement was largely intended to offset the emergence of Google’s Stadia, a game-streaming service based on the cloud.ii According to SuperData Research, a subsidiary of Nielsen Holdings, global consumers spent US$8.9 billion on digital games worldwide across PC, console and mobile devices in August. Tävlingsinriktat spelande (esport) håller på att formas till något bara få kunde tänka sig. E- sport (som förknippas med spelande) har också varit framgångsrikt på de olika fronterna i branschen. Den globala tilväxten inom e-sport och både nationell samt internationell framgång inom branschen har fått flera organisationer att investera i e-sport. Professionella sportorganisationer byggs upp på samma gång som tävlingar med allt större priser och synlighet väcker uppmärksamheten bland allmänheten. Dessutom har vissa skolor börjat stöda elever som vill rikta in sig på tävlingsinriktat spelande. Grail Quest är ett esport och LAN evenemang som ordnades för första gången 2017 i Gatorade Arena i Åbo 2018 i Kuppis bollhall. Organisatörerna vill med hjälp av evenemanget lyfta fram e-sporten och tävlingsinritkat spelande (videospel) bland allmänheten och nå nya potentiella kunder. Det huvudsakliga syftet med examensarbetet är att undersöka kundgruppen för att kartlägga en marknadsföringsstrategi åt följande Grail Quest -evenemanget som kommer att ordnas. I undersökningen ligger fokus på målgruppen e-sportentusiasiter. Arbetet går mer detaljerat in på hur man marknadsför evenemang. Det ser också på vad som krävs för att få ungdomar som tävlar i esport att bli intresserade att delta i ett e-sport och LAN- evenemang.
