About Tameside 15 VE Day Remembered

With public events cancelled to mark the VE Day 75th anniversary, people across Tameside held their own social distanced events on may 8th. Andrew Richardson, from Hyde Past & Present, organised a Facebook Live event at the James North Clock in Hyde which had been decorated by Red Floral for the occasion. This included someone playing the last post and three local families releasing doves provided by Cherished Memories - Dove Release who normally cater for events such as weddings and funerals etc. Members of St Johns band played for residents at Gardenfold in Droylsden whilst families around Tameside held their social distanced street parties like those we feature here from Dukinfield and Hyde.
