ED CHYNOWETH Builder Category (honoured posthumously) • First full-time president of the Western Canada Hockey League (now WHL), presiding from 1972-1979 and 1980-1996 • Became the first Canadian Major Junior Hockey League (now CHL) president in 1975-76, a position held until 1995 • WHL Chairman of the Board from 1996-98 and 2004-07 • Awarded the CAHA Order of Merit in 1986 for outstanding service to Canadian Amateur Hockey • Honoured with the renaming of the WHL Championship Trophy to the Ed Chynoweth Cup in May 2007
