Sporting events organized in Bydgoszcz, and there are many in our city’s busy calendar each year, always carry the promise of great fun and excitement. Nonetheless, they also pose a great challenge, as we strive to provide visitors and participants with the highest organizational standards. Things will not be any different this September, but the combined forces of Kazimierz Wielki University’s Sports Association and the Zawisza Sports Club of Bydgoszcz will no doubt ensure the highest level of organization. What will be awaiting you here in Bydgoszcz – excellent young shooters – enthusiastic fans, traditional Polish hospitality, and interesting national cuisine – but above all else, here you will experience the unique atmosphere of the city, where masters of sport feel truly welcome. All this will help you to achieve the desired results in your competitions. May Bydgoszcz be a city where your dreams are fulfilled. Best regards, Rafał Bruski The President of Bydgoszcz 3 Poland The Republic of Poland is a country located in Central Europe, bordered by Germany to the west; the Czech Republic and Slovakia to the south; Ukraine and Belarus to the east; and the Baltic Sea. The total area of Poland is 312,679 square kilometres (120,726 sq mi). With a population of over 38.5 million people, Poland is the 34th most populous country in the world, the 8th most populous country in Europe and the sixth most populous member of the European Union, as well as the most populous post-communist member of the European Union. Since the time the city was granted municipal rights by king Casmir the Great in 1346, it has grown to the rank of a dynamically developing economic centre. Bydgoszcz is a city located in northern Poland, on the Brda and Vistula rivers. With a citypopulation of 358,614 (June 2014), and an urban agglomeration with more than 470,000 inhabitants, Bydgoszcz is the 8th-largest city in Poland. Over the last few years our University has offered education to about 5 thousand newly admitted students annually. The university also provides over 30 postgraduate courses, developing &qualifications and conferring new rights. 6 Airports Bydgoszcz Ignacy Paderewski Airport is a Polish regional airport in the city of Bydgoszcz, Poland. It lies only 3.5 km (2.2 mi) from the city centre. It is the ninth largest airport in Poland in terms of passenger traffic. Poznań–Ławica Henryk Wieniawski Airport Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport built in 1913, is one of the oldest airports in Poland. is an international airport located 12 km It is located 5 km (3.1 mi) west of Poznań city centre (7.5 mi) west northwest of Gdańsk and 160 km and about 150 km fromQ Bydgoszcz. from Bydgoszcz. 7 Transport All officials and teams should notify the Gdańsk Organizing Committee in advance, as to their arrival dates, times, and flight schedules, so that transportation arrangement can be made both to and from the international airport. In, addition, all participants of the event shall arrange their itineraries to arrive Bydgoszcz in Bydgoszcz, Poznań or Gdańsk International Airport in Poland, and it also applies to departure. The Organizing Committee will be responsible Poznań Warszawa for local transport following arrival of delegations – officials and teams and their departure at Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, Poznań International Airport. However, for a payment (400 Euro to 15 persons) we also organize transport from and to Warsaw. Furthermore, the organizer provides transport between hotels and the sport objects at which the competition takes place. There is also a possibility to come to Bydgoszcz by train or by car. In such cases the organizer provides transport from railway station or space Q on a parking lot respectively. Warsaw Chopin Airport is an international airport located in the Capital of Poland. As Poland’s largest- covering 834 hectares of land, and busiest airport, Warsaw Chopin handles just under 40% of the country’s air passenger traffic. 8 Competition venue / Sport facilities The competition will be held in CWZS Zawisza Shooting Club which is located at No 163, Gdańska Street in Bydgoszcz, around 6 km from the city centre. The Shooting Club possesses one of the most modern shooting gallery in Poland. The sport object is equipped with 3 axes of shooting. Namely, 50, 25 and 10 meters long where the last one is pneumatic. What is more, every pavilion is equipped with SIUS ASCOR electronic targets. 9 Competition venue / Map The distance between the two shooting ranges at which the competition takes place amounts to 4 km and the journey takes about 10 minutes. The main shooting range is located at No. 163, Gdańska Street, where the rifle and pistol competitions take place. However, the second shooting range is located at Rynkowska Street, where the contestants compete in the shotgun discipline. Nearby ZAWISZA Sports Complex one of the largest city park in Poland called Myślęcinek is located. There the participants have a chance to spend their free time in an active way, as for instance shooters can go for a walk, go running or visit the zoological garden. 10 Competition venue / Layout ZAWISZA SPORT COMPLEX 1. The most important cultural institutions in the city are: - The Polish Theatre, - Opera Nova, - Ignacy Jan Paderewski Pomeranian Philharmonic, - Bydgoszcz Academy of Music, - several art galleries; - film clubs; - museums, - an art Gallery, -numerous municipal and student cultural centres which organize a wide range of cultural events. One of the most vibrant cultural institutions of Bydgoszcz is the Leon Wyczółkowski District Museum with several facilities in different parts of the city, but primarily on the extremely picturesque Mill Island. Photo: Robert Sawicki 13 Cultural Program Bydgoszcz hosts several art and music festivals, including the world famous Bydgoszcz Opera Festival, Festival of New Dramaturgies, Musica Antiqua Europae Orientalis Festivals. At the Premiere Festival hardly anybody remains indifferent to what happens on stage. The Polish Theatre in Bydgoszcz puts a lot of emphasis on contemporaneity and dialogue with its viewers. Municipal Centre of Culture is located on Mar- cinkowski Street in a secession style building from the beginning of the 20th century designed by Fritz Weidner. You can come here to see all kinds of cultural events, concerts and films. Besides this, the Centre takes care of some other venues: the Wspólna Gallery, Concert Stage in Wincenty Witos Park and the Palace in Ostromecko.

Between the rivers Brda and Vistula, the diverse architectural designs and the unique musical scenario of Bydgoszcz attract tourists all year round. The WiFi4EU voucher has allowed the municipality to renew their public Wi-Fi network while creating opportunities for the development of eServices for citizens and tourists. Seeking to know more about the implementation of the EUR 15,000 voucher in Bydgoszcz, the WiFi4EU team spoke with Janusz Popielewski, Chief Information Officer. The city is not new to European initiatives and funds therefore the Local Council happily welcomed the European Commission grant for high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity. “The entire process was very simple for us. The competition rules were simple enough and everything was well described. It did not require filling in complicated applications, and the final payment was carried out without our mediation, which further simplified the entire process”, explained Popielewski. The WiFi4EU voucher won during the first call has been channelled towards the modernisation of the city’s already existing public Wi-Fi network. The municipality largely invested in a network able to cover relevant indoor and outdoor areas throughout Bydgoszcz. Thanks to WiFi4EU and the municipality’s additional funding, a total of 90 access points were purchased and located in the territory.

    City Profile Bydgoszcz City Profile Bydgoszcz Introduction Bydgoszcz is a city located in northern Poland, on the Brda and Vistula rivers and is home to a population of 363,020 (2011). It is the largest city in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie (Kujawy and Pomerania) region and the eighth largest city in Poland. The Voivode’s office and majority of central government authorities are situated in Bydgoszcz. The city is located at one of the biggest railroad junctions in Poland, where two important lines cross (the east-west and the north-south lines). The major economic activities of Bydgoszcz include trade, construction, transport and storage industries. In 2004, Bydgoszcz opened an industrial and technological park over an area of 283 hectares, an attractive place for business. The city of Bydgoszcz started its work on climate protection issues in 2009 as a result of involvement in the international LAKS project (Local Accountability for Kyoto Goals), implemented within the LIFE+ programme. The aim of the project was to increase the awareness and responsibility of local authorities, businesses and citizens for actions to mitigate climate change and to implement the commitments of the Kyoto Protocol. In order to find out the sources of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, a respective inventory for 2005-2009 was carried out. The city then established a climate Mitigation and Adaptation Plan (MAP) that was approved by the City Council’s resolution in 2010. The plan set out an emission reduction target of 18.7% by 2020. In November 2011, the city joined the Covenant of Mayors. In 2012, the city of Bydgoszcz carried out the control GHG emission inventory for 2011.

Later, he was appointed music director of the Imperial Orchestra in Tokyo, and the musicians who played under him broadened his knowledge of traditional Japanese Music.     Anna Gutowska was born in Rzeszow. From the age of seven, she attended the music school from which she graduated with honors. After attending the piano class of Prof. L. Strzelecka for one year, she started to learn to play the violin at the violin class of Prof. D.Sendłak. After graduation, Anna continued teaching in the Music School Association in Rzeszow in the class of Prof. R. Naściszewski, while at the same time, she was a student at the Conservatoire de Lausanne in Switzerland in the class of Prof. J. Jaquerod. She also graduated from this course with distinction. From 2001 she studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna in the violin class - concert subject of o.Univ. Prof. Edward Zienkowski. In 2007 she received her diploma with distinction and a prize from the Minister for Culture and Art and acquired the title Mag. Art. In 2008/2009, she completed postgraduate studies at the same university under supervision of Prof. Edward Zienkowski. Anna took part in the International Z.Brzewski Master Classes in Łańcut, the Verbier Festival Academy, the Vienna Master Classes and others, each under supervision of valued virtuosos and educators such as I. Haendel, I. Ojstrach, M. Jaszwili, H .Krebbers, KAKulka, P.Urstein, J.Kaliszewska, M.Ławrynowicz, P.Farulli (Quartetto Italiano).
