THE WORLD’S NEWSSTAND®

JULY 17 – 20, 2012 KENTUCKY INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION CENTER | LOUISVILLE, KY | USA

INVITATION TO ATTEND

Hydropower’s growth over the past year has earned the industry a top position among the renewables. New development is on the rise. More and more countries are adding hydro into their future energy plans.

Against this backdrop of unprecedented growth and promise, the world’s largest gathering of hydro professionals, HydroVision International, will take place in Louisville, Kentucky, USA at the Kentucky International Convention Center, July 17 – 20, 2012.

There is no better place to see hydro in action. HydroVision International 2012 will provide a forum for hydro professionals to gain a better understanding of current and future issues affecting hydro, share expertise and viewpoints toward effective solutions, build alliances and create synergy among various water resource stakeholders and identify ways to increase the value of hydro.

I invite you to join me – along with thousands of other hydro professionals – in Louisville, Kentucky, USA for a week of informative hydropower-focused meetings, workshops, technical tours, an extensive conference program and the world’s largest exhibition of hydro products and services.

More than 3,000 delegates are expected to attend along with over 300 exhibiting companies.

Please join us the week of July 17 – 20, 2012 to attend HydroVision International. I look forward to seeing you.

Sincerely, Marla Barnes

Ohio Falls generating station, which was constructed in the 1920s on the dangerous Falls of the , was considered to be an engineering marvel for its time. Upon completion, Ohio Falls was one of the nation’s largest hydro stations, with eight generators churning out 80 MW of Sponsored By: power that supplied much of Louisville’s demand for a decade. Although the plant supplies less than 5 percent of LG&E and KU’s total power supply today, it is still a valuable generating asset. In 2005, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued LG&E a 40-year license to continue operating the Ohio Falls facility, and the company is investing Hard Hats & Safety Glasses Sponsor: about $130 million on the renovation of the facility’s units. These upgrades will result in an increase in total generating capacity, to about 101 MW. Today, Ohio Falls continues to be an historical and engineering attraction for visitors.

Participants for both tours must provide identifi cation information at the time of registration (driver’s license information for U.S. participants; passport number for non-U.S. residents).
