The apparent curvature of the road in the background seems accentuated by a rise in the grade level of the roadway which, possibly stripped of original ballast, now appears to wind randomly along the general course of the embankment as depicted in Slide #37.

Note the vertical grade separation between the two lines; and the positioin of the small evergreen bush on the eastern edge of the old embankment north of the 44kv hydro pole, which appears, from a southerly angle, on slides #33 & #35 of this series as indicated by white arrows in these photographs. Recently abandoned COR roadbed is seen to the right. Hydro pole in foreground is that seen in Slide #31; and its location is in apparent alignment with original direction of the old line as it approached the southern deviation point, now obliterated (possibly due to drainage excavation compatible with deviated roadbed). The soil so accumulated appears to have been deposited at the southern end of original embankment; and the roadway currently appearing in the photograph swings west of it in order to cross the (later) deviation with sufficient clearance to avoid fouling the 44kv pole when handling extended loads.
