Since the passing of its visionary founder, Stan Liddell, in early 2013, the club has foundered, eventually passing out of the LiddellI family’s hands into those of out-of-state owners who were no more suc- cessful in restoring the club – renamed The Hub – to its glory days. Now, with new and once again local ownership, Piere’s has another chance. The landscape GO TO OUR WEBSITE has changed since 2013. Acts that used to play Piere’s seem to be doing just fine at clubs like The Rusty Spur, and the Foellinger and Embassy theaters have cer- FOR TICKET INFO & MORE tainly stepped up their national concert game. On the other side of town, the Clyde ALL SHOWS ALL AGES Theatre is itself coming back from the dead and will be competing for many of the same national acts and fans. Will the new (as yet unidentified) owners be able to make a go of it? Steve Penhollow provides some insight with his cover story on page 4.
