NATIONAL FOREST WILDERNESS

Pursuant to 36 CFR, Section 261.50(a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited on National Forest Wilderness areas within the .

1.Camping. 36 CFR 261.58(e)

a. Within (50) fifty feet of any Forest Development Trail in the North Absaroka Wilderness and .

b. Within (100) one hundred feet of any trail, lake, or stream that is indicated with a solid blue line on USGS topographic maps in the .

c. Within (200) two hundred feet of any trail, lake, or stream that is indicated with a solid blue line on USGS topographic maps in the and Absaroka - Beartooth Wilderness.

d Within (1/4) one fourth mile of Lonesome Lake in the Popo Agie Wilderness.

e. At the base of Dinwoody Glacier and along the Glacier Trail between the confluence of Dinwoody and Knoll Lake Creeks by groups with pack or saddle annimals. in the Fitzpatrick Wilderness.

2.Building, maintaining, attending, or using a campfire. 36 CFR 261.52(a)

a. At the base of Dinwoody Glacier and along the Glacier Trail between the confluence of Dinwoody and Knoll Lake Creeks in the Fitzpatrick Wilderness.

b. Within (1/4) one fourth mile of Lonesome Lake in the Popo Agie Wilderness.

3.Grazing. 36 CFR 261.57(e)

a. At sites posted as closed to livestock grazing in all Wilderness Areas. 4.Using a campsite or other area by more than number allowed. CFR 261.58(f) a. With a group exceeding 15 persons in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness.

b. With a group exceeding 20 persons in all other Wilderness Areas.

5.Possessing pack-outfitting equipment. 36 CFR 261.57(b)

a. With a combined number of pack and saddle stock greater than 15 animals in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness.

b. With a combined number of pack and saddle stock greater than 30 animals. in all other Wilderness Areas.

c. With pack and saddle stock, except with a livestock use permit in the Popo Agie Wilderness.

6.Possessing, storing, or transporting food for livestock except for pelletized feed or processed grain (rolled). Cubed hay is authorized only if certified weed seed free by an authorized Federal, State, or County Officer. 36 CFR 261.58(t)

7.Storing equipment, personal property or supplies. 36 CFR 261.57(f)

8.Possessing or using a wagon, cart or other vehicle. 36 CFR 261.57(h)

Persons using a non-motorized wheelchair as a necessary medical appliance are exempt from this prohibition.

Pursuant to 36 CFR, Section 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:

1.Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.

2.Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty.

Violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5000 or imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, or both. Title 16 USC Section 551

This order supersedes Special Order No. 97-006, dated July 18, 1997 and is in effect until rescinded.
