Easy Shepherd's EASY SHEPHERD’S PIE INGREDIENTS: - 1 1/2 cups Augason Farms Beef Flavored Vegetarian Meat Substitute, rehydrated - 1/2 cup Augason Farms Dehydrated Chopped Onions, rehydrated - 1/2 cup each Augason Farms Freeze Dried Peas and Freeze Dried Corn, rehydrated - 1/2 cup Augason Farms Dehydrated Diced Carrots, rehydrated - 3 cups Augason Farms Potato Gems, prepared SERVES - 3 tablespoons butter 4 - 1/2 cup beef broth - 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce - Salt, pepper, other seasonings of choice DIRECTIONS: 1. Prepare Potato Gems according to label directions and set aside. 2. Melt 3 tablespoons butter in large frying pan then add rehydrated vegetables, meat substitute, salt and pepper, Worcestershire sauce and beef broth. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes or until vegetables are tender. 3. Distribute vegetables and beef mixture evenly in the bottom of an oven-proof baking dish. 4. Top with mashed potatoes. Create peaks with a fork that will brown nicely. 5. Bake at 400° F about 30 minutes or until bubbling and brown. Broil for last few Long Term minutes, if necessary, to brown. Add strawberries, oil, Morning Moo’s and water. Stir well. Bake in greased 9x13” cake pan for 28-30 minutes at 350° F. Cool Long Term before frosting. Everyday DIRECTIONS FOR FROSTING: Emergencies Combine cream cheese & butter. Add powdered sugar. Gently fold in crushed strawberries. ALOHA MACARONI SALAD INGREDIENTS: - 2 cups Augason Farms Elbow Macaroni - 1/2 (32 ounce) jar salad dressing - 1 (20 ounce) can pineapple tidbits - 1/2 pound sharp cheddar cheese - 3/4 cup raisins - 1 medium carrot DIRECTIONS: Dice carrot and steam until crisp-tender. Boil macaroni in boiling water 7-10 minutes. Mix all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Chill for 2 hours or overnight prior to serving. Long Term Everyday Emergencies POUND CAKE INGREDIENTS: - 6 eggs - 1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese - 1 tablespoon vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon almond extract - 3 cups cake flour - 3 cups Augason Farms White Granulated Sugar - 1 1/2 cups Augason Farms Butter Powder mixed with 1 cup water DIRECTIONS: 1. Preheat oven to 325° F. Grease and flour a 10” tube pan or two small loaf pans. 2. Cream together the butter mixture, cream cheese, and sugar until light. Stir in vanilla and almond extracts. Add the flour and the eggs alternately, beginning and ending with the flour. Pour batter into the prepared pan. 3. Bake at 325° F for one hour and 15 minutes for tube pan, 55 minutes for loaf pans, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Long Term Everyday Emergencies CORN CHOWDER INGREDIENTS: - 8 cups water - 2 tablespoons Augason Farms Chicken Bouillon - 4 cups Augason Farms Freeze Dried Sweet Corn - 2 tablespoons Augason Farms Dehydrated Diced Carrots* - 1 cup Augason Farms Dehydrated Potato Dices** - 1/2 cup Augason Farms Dehydrated Cross Cut Celery*** - 1/2 cup Augason Farms Dehydrated Chopped Onions**** - 1 small can diced green chilies - 2 teaspoons Augason Farms Iodized Salt - 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin - 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder - 2 cups heavy cream Directions: 1. Place all ingredients except the cream in a pot and bring to a low boil, simmer 20-25 minutes until vegetables are tender. 2. Place soup in a blender in small batches and blend until smooth. 3. Return to pot and add cream. Mix well. 4. Garnish with hot sauce and fresh lime juice. Long Term * Can substitute with 1/4 cup fresh diced carrots Everyday ** Can substitute with 1 1/2 cups fresh potato dices Emergencies *** Can substitute with 2/3 cup fresh diced celery **** Can substitute with 1 cup fresh chopped onion CHEESY POTATOES INGREDIENTS: - 1 1/2 cups Augason Farms Dehydrated Potato Dices - 1 tablespoon Augason Farms Dehydrated Chopped Onions - 1/3 cup Augason Farms Cheese Powder - 2 1/3 cup boiling water - 2 tablespoons Augason Farms Butter Powder* - 1 tablespoon oil - 2 tablespoons Augason Farms Morning Moo’s Low Fat Milk Alternative** - 2/3 cup water DIRECTIONS: 1. Preheat oven to 400° F. 2. Blend boiling water and cheese powder; add potatoes and onions and place in a greased 2-qt. casserole dish. 3. Mix dry milk and 2/3 cup water. Mix butter powder with oil and add to milk mixture. 4. Add to potatoes in casserole dish and mix well. 5. Bake for 30-35 minutes until top is golden brown and potatoes are tender. * Substitute 2 tbsp butter or margarine. ** Substitute 3/4 cup milk instead of powdered milk and 2/3 cup water. Long Term Everyday Emergencies HONEY SCONES INGREDIENTS: - 6 cups Augason Farms Honey White Bread, Roll & Scone Mix - 2 1/4 cups warm water - 2 tablespoons yeast - 1/3 cup oil YIELD DIRECTIONS: 24 1. Combine bread mix, yeast, water, and oil. Knead until smooth and elastic, or mix 10-12 SCONES minutes using dough hook on 2nd speed. (3 speed mixer) 2. Cover and let rest for 20 minutes, roll out and cut. 3. Fry at 375° F. Turn when golden brown on the underneath side, fry until golden brown. 4. Serve with butter, honey, and powdered sugar. Mix well to remove lumps, adding hot water, a little at a time, until desired consistency is attained. Cook on medium heat, stirring until mixture thickens. More liquid or cheese powder may be added to achieve desired consistency. Reduce heat or transfer to double boiler, crock pot, or fondue server to allow flavors to blend and to keep warm without scorching. Serve with mini tacos or your favorite tortilla chips. Cover and chill in the refrigerator approximately 2 hours before serving. Long Term Everyday Emergencies APPLE CRUMB CAKE INGREDIENTS FOR CAKE: - 3 cups flour - 2 tablespoons baking powder - 1/3 cup Augason Farms Dried Whole Eggs - 1 3/4 cups water - 1 1/2 cups sugar - 1/2 cup shortening - 1 1/2 teaspoons salt - 1 cup Augason Farms Dehydrated Apple Slices – chopped & rehydrated INGREDIENTS FOR TOPPING: - 2/3 cup brown sugar - 3/4 cup Augason Farms Butter Powder - 2 tablespoons water - 1/2 cup flour - 1 teaspoon cinnamon DIRECTIONS FOR CAKE: In large bowl, blend all ingredients and mix well. Pour into a greased 9x13” baking dish. Long Term DIRECTIONS FOR TOPPING: Everyday In small bowl, mix all topping ingredients with fork until crumbly. Sprinkle crumb topping Emergencies on top of cake. Bake at 375° F for 25-30 minutes. BANANA CHIP COOKIES INGREDIENTS: - 2 1/4 cups flour - 1/2 teaspoon baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon salt - 1/2 cup unsalted butter - 1 cup brown sugar - 3 tablespoons Augason Farms Dried Scrambled Egg Mix + 1/3 cup water - 2 teaspoons vanilla - 2/3 cup Augason Farms Honey Coated Banana Slices – coarsely chopped - 1 cup chocolate chips - 2/3 cup toasted walnuts – chopped DIRECTIONS: Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

For more information visit www.omniasweden.com It is almost twenty years since I bought my first ‘drum oven’. Now dented and worn it is still an integral part of my kit on board my boat. My first attempts were with ready made sponge mixes – but, good as they were, it was not until I started using the Omnia as a normal oven that I began to realize its full potential. Today I make bread, pies, and an endless list of dishes au gratin and other tasty meals. But don’t take my word for it, try it yourself. Anders Billing GENTLE HEAT AND GREASED FOOD HOLDER The Omnia will work on any hob and cooking times are about the same as a traditional oven. Place the ingredients in the round, aluminium food holder – Always grease the Omnia food holder and, when baking bread, dust with breadcrumbs. Be careful to adjust the heat source – always medium to low heat. If you are using gas, mentholated spirits or another flame heat it should be adjusted to just above low. All times in this cookery book are for an open flame heat. If you are using an electric hotplate, we suggest you turn the hot plate on and allow it to get hot before using as this makes timing easier. Making food in an oven without a thermometer may seem strange at first, but once you have tried and with the help of this cookery book you will quickly learn how easy it is.
