Welcome to Queen's Musical Theatre's production of Company! The show you are about to see marks our 66th production since the club's inception in 1969. Over the past 46 years, Queen's students have come together to stage musicals that have represented a wide range of eras, styles and composers and we are exited to have the opportunity to present another Sondheim masterpiece. The entire team of Company has been working tirelessly on this production since they started in March. Their creativity, dedication, and perseverance have been evident throughout every step of the process. The QMT Board of Directors is thrilled with the overall product, and incredibly proud impressed with the caliber of work from our members. I would like to thank everyone involved for their contribution and hard work, and wish the team a well-deserved congratulation!

Thank you to you, our audience, for your continued support of musical theatre at Queen's and we hope to see you in the spring for our production of Next to Normal opening late March in the Rotunda Theatre!

Taylor Snow I Parker O'Connor I Amelia Alie I Shannon Dillon I Connor Marois I QMT Board Company: A Comedic Commentary on Connection Director's Note Company was bitterly honest about its audiences' views on marriage when it was originally produced in 1970. People at that time were questioning the value of getting married, which can be said about many of us in 2015. In the hustle-bustle of the buzzing digital landscape, much like the busyness of , it can be difficult to pinpoint what we want in a relationship with another person and simultaneously strengthen our individual identities. Is settling down with someone really the way to personal happiness? How can we remain true to ourselves and still connect with others, all while entrenched in a society that has grown too accustomed to simply communicating?

The opportunity to explore these questions may lie in the theatre itself. Here you are, gathered in this space, about to experience something together as friends, family members, or complete strangers. It might go really well, and it might not (please knock on wood on my behalf), but what's important is that we are in this together, doing something other than sending a few typed words over invisible wavelengths. This is particularly relevant to Company, as it draws attention to its own theatricality, highlighting the potential real-world importance of coming to the theatre in the first place.

We've rehearsed extensively for what you're about to experience C-Now you've rehearsed, I'm touched!") but very soon we "blow out the candles" and leave you in the dark. You gather for this short moment then go on with your lives, regardless of whether or not you have someone to "hold you too close". One hopes, however, that you are affected in a way that influences how you approach the real world - whether it's a major epiphany or a cheery song stuck in your head.

Grab a drink, mingle, and go on a journey with Robert and his friends. Ultimately, like our friend Bobby, you will always have yourself as a companion through this chaotic life. But while you're here, enjoy experiencing this performance in the company of other people.

Thank you all so much for coming, and enjoy the show!
