In Norway, a rock on top of another rock is traditionally perceived as marking out a route through the mountains or signalling that a peak has been conquered - unless it is debris left behind by a glacier. The Swiss artists Peter Fischli and David Weiss have placed one huge rock on top of another to create such a cairn. This may be a colossal indication that someone was here; but by the sheer force of its dimensions the installation becomes something more.
