Resumption of the session The session suspended on Thursday 30 January 2020 was resumed. 2. Opening of the sitting The sitting opened at 17.06. 3. Statement by the President To mark the ‘Giorno del ricordo’ in Italy, the President paid homage to the victims of the Foibe massacres and to the people of Dalmatia, Fiume and Istria who were forced into exile after the Second World War. Parliament observed a minute's silence. 4. Approval of the minutes of the previous sittings The minutes of the sittings of 29 January 2020 and 30 January 2020 were approved. 5. C 261/4 EN Off icial Jour nal of the European Union 2.7.2021 Monday 10 February 2020 In accordance with the European Council's decision of 28 June 2018 and following the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union on 31 January 2020, the competent authorities of 13 Member States had informed the European Parliament that the following Members had been elected to Parliament with effect from 1 February 2020: Denmark: Linea Søgaard-Lidell; Estonia: Riho Terras; Ireland: Barry Andrews and Deirdre Clune; Spain: Marcos Ros Sempere, Margarita de la Pisa Carrión, Gabriel Mato Adrover, Adrián Vázquez Lázara and Clara Ponsatí i Obiols; France: Ilana Cicurel, Sandro Gozi, Claude Gruffat, Jean-Lin Lacapelle and Nora Mebarek; Croatia: Romana Jerković; Italy: Sergio Antonio Berlato, Salvatore De Meo and Vincenzo Sofo; Austria: Thomas Waitz; Poland: Dominik Tarczyński; Romania: Victor Negrescu; Slovakia: Miriam Lexmann; Finland: Alviina Alametsä; Sweden: Jakop Dalunde. Under Rule 3(2), until such time as their credentials had been verified or a ruling had been given on any dispute, and provided that they had previously made a written declaration stating that they did not hold any office incompatible with that of Member of the European Parliament, these Members would take their seats in Parliament and on its bodies and would enjoy all the rights attaching thereto. 6. Composition of committees In line with the new composition of Parliament (minutes of 10.2.2020, item 5) and the numerical strength of the committees adopted on 15 January 2020 (minutes of 15.1.2020, item 10.1), the President announced that she had received the list of appointments to committees from the political groups and the Secretariat of the non-attached Members in accordance with Rule 209. The lists outlining the composition of the committees has been published on Parliament's website and annexed to these Minutes (minutes of 10.2.2020 annex 1). * * * The following spoke: Manon Aubry, on Rule 125 and Annex 7 of the Rules of Procedure (the President replied that the question would be passed on to the President of Parliament) and Sandra Pereira. 7.
