MODERN ENDURO Mike Lafferty
MODERN ENDURO ary Enman, a 15-year-old hare scrambles racer from Bangor, Pa., admits that he wasn’t sure what to expect when he started enduro racing. “For the most part, I didn’t have any idea what I was doing when I lined up for my first enduro,” says Gary, who decided to try the national enduros when he was just 13 years old. “My younger brother, Neil, and I were looking for something different. Our dad used to ride traditional time-keeping enduros, so we decided to give enduros a try. It wasn’t that hard to transition into.” The Enman brothers say their parents are their pit crew, but their dad hopes to ride with them next year. On occasion, the boys get to ride on the same row, and that adds to the camaraderie-building experience. “The enduros have a great community vibe,” Neil says. “It’s like being part of a huge family. Someone is always there to One Of help when you need it.” While racing is the main focus of the weekend, the Enman Motorcycling’s brothers say they enjoy camping, hanging out with their race friends and checking out the terrain. They also try to Oldest Disciplines, experience something local to the race location, whether it’s seeing a national landmark or eating at a local restaurant. Enduros Are Evolving For “If you’re someone wondering if you should try enduros, I say A New Generation just go for it,” Gary says. “It’s nice to go out and race all day, but be able to take breaks and reset your mind. -

Drop us a line via email [email protected] President’s Message In this month's message, I'd like to discuss a troubling phenomenon from some of our recent NETRA events. In one case at a hare scramble earlier this year, we had several riders blatantly disregard yellow flags and the instrucons of track workers at the scoring barrels. On another occasion, a non-parcipang NETRA member chose to harass the Trail Boss at an event, cricizing how he had orga- nized the event. At last year's Classic Trail Ride, a few parcipants decided they had the right to ride their bikes wherever they wanted on the New Hampshire Speedway property, and when confronted by track personnel unleashed a tor- rent of foul language and obscene gestures. -

This was largely 300 achieved through a consistent weight reduction and a high-tech FX construction that concentrates all the moving engines masses as 450 compactly and as close to the bike’s centre of gravity as possi- ble. The main target in the development of the bikes was to get the best handling 4-stroke on the market, as FS close to a 2-stroke as possible. That was achieved, but the engineers also had to face the fact, that there are 570 some riding conditions where a 2-stroke does still have its advantages. That’s why the next step was to add 2-stroke models to the Husaberg model range. INNOVATION Husaberg products are always taking that extra, courageous step forward in their technological development. This force for innovation springs from a deep understanding of the sport and the riders’ needs. UNDERSTATEMENT / DIFFERENCE At a first glance, every vehicle is an understatement, not a show-off. All the details are designed to improve the rideability of the bike, they all have a purpose. This makes Husaberg different and very exceptional. Just like the people who buy this brand. COMPETITION Husaberg has its roots in the racing world. -
