”Music can change the world” - Beethoven

Day 1 of the mobility – Monday Virtual mobility-22-26 March, 2021, hosted by Regina Maria Highschool, Dorohoi

229 students and teachers participated in this mobility with the help of Zoom platform.The main theme was Local Music so all the participants had the opportunity to discover traditional music from all the 6 partner countries: Romania, Croatia, Turkey, Italy, Greece and Portugal. 1. Presentation of Erasmus program and our project

The first day of our mobility started with a presentation of the Erasmus programme. We presented the benefits this programme has for teachers and students. The general objective of the Programme is to support, through lifelong learning, the educational, professional and personal development of people in education, training, youth and sport, in Europe and beyond, thereby contributing to sustainable growth, quality jobs and social cohesion, to driving innovation, and to strengthening European identity and active citizenship. We made a short presentation of our project for the new members of our MCYCOC’s team and listened to each country’s national anthem.

Romanian students who have had the opportunity to participate in face-to-face mobilities presented the activities that were carried out and sent messages to the friends they made there.

We finished our day with a presentation of the beautiful places Romania has to show and of Dorohoi, the hosting town.

Europe’s best preserved delta can be found in Romania

Located in Eastern Romania, a four hour drive from the capital Bucharest, the is the second largest delta in Europe and the best preserved on the continent. With 300 species of birds and 160 species of fish, it is a true birdwatcher’s paradise and a dream destination for wildlife lovers. Remarkably, this is also the best place to spot some of Europe’s last wild horses. Also, the seafood and fish dishes served here are the best in the country. Salina Turda hosts an underground amusement park

The former salt mine Salina Turda, which dates from the 17th century, is home to an underground amusement park nestled 120 meters (400 feet) down in its belly. The attractions include a bowling alley, an amphitheater that regularly hosts live concerts and a Ferris wheel. What’s more, the salt mine also hosts an underground salt lake that you can explore using paddle and rowing boats. There are seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Romania

Romania is home to no less than seven World Heritage Sites. The Villages with Fortified Churches in Transylvania, the old center of the city of Sighișoara, the ruins of , the former Dacian capital in the Oraștie Mountains, the Horezu Monastery, the wooden churches of Maramureș, Moldavia’s painted churches, including Voroneț, and, for its tremendous diversity, the Danube Delta. Day 2 of the mobility – Tuesday Video presentation of local composers/singers- each partner country introduced one of their most important local artist.

Romanian students presented a short history of the traditional music representative for our country.

We also had the opportunity to listen to traditional music performed by students from our partner countries.

Day 3 of the mobility – Wednesday Guess the song activity- Romanian students prepared fragments of songs which are popular nowadays and the guest students had to guess the song.

Iasi and The palace of culture-virtual tour Known as The Cultural Capital of Romania, Iași is a symbol in Romanian history. The historian Nicolae Iorga said “There should be no Romanian who does not know of it”. Still referred to as The Moldavian Capital, Iași is the seat of Iași County and the main economic centre of the Romanian region of Moldavia. Music is food for the soul activity-for this activity students worked in breakout rooms .They had to find a song in their native language that best describes the emotions they have been going through in the last pandemic year. They had to tell us a few words about how they perceived this period, how they spent their isolation and lockdown days. Day 4 of the mobility – Thursday 1.
