Prelude 9:30 Amazing Grace! How Sweet the Sound arr. George Shearing (1919-2011) Jeffrey Patry, organist

9:30 Music for Flute and Harp Emily Gerard, harp | Julie Johnson, flute

11:30 Zion Heather Headley & Keith Thomas Jerry Steele, soloist Our Father, who reigns on Zion, mighty and true. Give us this day the gift of Your grace, Your love and Your righteous. Our Father, who reigns on Zion, broken we bow. Here in this place, come as we praise the power of Your holy name.

Let every voice and nation proclaim that You are the Lord of all. Our Fortress and Tower, how pure are Your ways. In faith we surrender Your call in Zion. Giver of life, we lay at Your feet, still and complete, in awe of Your holiness.

5:00 NETTLETON arr.

When I cried out to the Lord, he heeded my call against my assailants; he who is before the beginning of the world and who endures forever has humbled them. Cast your cares upon the Lord, and he will sustain you. Hear my prayer, O God, and despise not my supplication; be attentive to me and hear me. -Ps 54:17-20, 23, and 2 2 Processional Hymn Amazing Grace

LITURGY OF THE WORD

A reading from Book of the Prophet Amos 7:12-15

Amaziah, priest of Bethel, said to Amos,“Off with you, visionary, flee to the land of Judah! There earn your bread by prophesying, but never again prophesy in Bethel; for it is the king’s sanctuary and a royal temple.” Amos answered Amaziah, “I was no prophet, nor have I belonged to a company of prophets; I was a shepherd and a dresser of sycamores. The Lord took me from following the flock, and said to me, Go, prophesy to my people Israel.”

6 A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Ephesians 1:3-10 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavens, as he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and without blemish before him. In love he destined us for adoption to himself through Jesus Christ, in accord with the favor of his will, for the praise of the glory of God’s grace that he granted us in the beloved. In him we have redemption by his blood, the forgiveness of transgressions, in accord with the riches of his grace that he lavished upon us. In all wisdom and insight, he has made known to us the mystery of his will in accord with his favor that he set forth in him as a plan for the fullness of times, to sum up all things in Christ, in heaven and on earth. Lector: The word of the Lord. Assembly: Thanks be to God.

A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Mark 6:7-13

Jesus summoned the Twelve and began to send them out two by two and gave them authority over unclean spirits. He instructed them to take nothing for the journey but a walking stick—no food, no sack, no money in their belts. They were, however, to wear sandals but not a second tunic. He said to them, “Wherever you enter a house, stay there until you leave. Whatever place does not welcome you or listen to you, leave there and shake the dust off your feet in testimony against them.” So they went off and preached repentance. The Twelve drove out many demons, and they anointed with oil many who were sick and cured them.

Your eye is on the sparrow, and Your hand, it comforts me. From the ends of the earth to the depths of my heart, let Your mercy and strength be seen. You call me to Your purpose, as angels understand. For Your glory, may You draw all men as Your love and grace demands.

And I will run to You, to Your words of truth. Not by might, not by power, but by the Spirit of God. Yes I will run the race, ’til I see Your face. Oh let me live in the glory of Your grace.

12 Meditation 9:30 Music for Flute and Harp Emily Gerard, harp | Julie Johnson, flute

11:30 This I Know / I Have Decided to Follow Jesus Alvin Slaughter Jerry Steele, soloist To worship You, O Lord, is what I live for; I remember Your great mercy and Your love; I will trust in You for strength when I am weary, and I will serve You with my whole heart, this I know; If you need someone to be Your hand extended, where You lead me, Lord, I promise I will go; For You’ve created me to be Your sanctuary; I will serve you with my whole heart this I know.

This I know, this I know, I will serve You with my whole heart, this I know.

Though we tell You with our lips how much we love You, yet it seems the love of many have grown cold; I refuse to offer what has cost me nothing; I will serve You with my whole heart, this I know; I cried tears of joy when I first held my baby, tears of sorrow when my mother was called home; But like a soldier I am marching up to Zion, where I’ll cry tears of jubilation around God’s throne.

This I know, this I know, I will serve You with my whole heart, this I know.

So may the Spirit fill your heart with joy and gladness; May the glory of His presence fill your soul; When the trumpet sounds, rise up, He calls you onward, where God’s light will shine forever this I know. So when the twists and turns of life cause you to wonder, let your faith remind you God is in control; Just stand your ground and know that God, our great Jehovah, is your provider and strong tower, this I know.

This I know, this I know, I will serve You with my whole heart, this I know; No turning back, there’s no turning back; I have decided to follow Jesus.
