E-mail: [email protected] Abstract Including the results reported in this paper, there are 41 species of Oxypetalum (Apocynaceae, Asclepiadoideae) that occur in Argentina, eight of them endemic: O. arenicola, O. fontellae, O. gracile, O. lynchianum, O. longipedunculatum, O. pu- bescens, O. tucumanense and O. teyucuarense. The last is a new species from the Paraje Teyú Cuaré, San Ignacio, Misiones Province, Argentina, which is described and illustrated here. It shares some morphological features with O. jorgensenii, but, overall, it does not closely resemble any other species of the genus morphologically in its unique assemblage of characteris- tics. In addition to this new species, we here report two additional species for the first time in Argentina. O número de táxons para o estado aumentou de 86 para 122. No total, 36 novas ocorrências foram detectadas e incorporadas no presente checklist. Nossos resultados reforçam que um extenso trabalho de campo é necessário para alcançar uma melhor compreensão da biodiversidade do estado de Mato Grosso do Sul. Palavras-chave: Asclepiadaceae, Chaco, Pantanal ABSTRACT – This Checklist presents an updated inventory of the biodiversity of Apocynaceae from Mato Grosso do Sul, and also provides useful information for future steps in the BIOTA/MS program. The number of species of Apocynaceae known in the state has increased from 86 to 122; 36 taxa are reported for the fi rst time. Our results reinforce that extensive fi eldwork is necessary to achieve a better understanding of the biodiversity in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. Two genera, Widgrenia and Rhyssostelma, are nested in the large genus Oxypetalum. One, Stenomeria, is congeneric with Tassadia. The correspondent and necessary new combinations, Oxypetalum nigricans and O. corymbosum, and Tassadia decalepis, T. fos- teri and T. pentalepis are made. The new combination Tassadia guanchezii is proposed for a hitherto insufficiently known species of white sand savannas of Colombia and Venezuela. Lorostelma struthianthus, a synonym of Tassadia decalepis, is lectotypified. This manuscript proposes taxonomic changes that reflect advances in Oxypetalinae and Tassadiinae, and it emends the description of Tassadia guanchezii. GUIDE TO THE GENERA OF LIANAS AND CLIMBING PLANTS IN THE NEOTROPICS APOCYNACEAE By Gilberto Morillo & Sigrid Liede-Schumann1 (Mar 2021) A pantropical family of trees, shrubs, lianas, and herbs, generally found below 2,500 m elevation with a few species reaching 4,500 m. Represented in the Neotropics by about 100 genera and 1600 species of which 80 genera and about 1350 species are twining vines, lianas or facultative climbing subshrubs; found in diverse habitats, such as rain, moist, gallery, montane, premontane and seasonally dry forests, savannas, scrubs, Páramos and Punas. Morfoanatomia De Espécies Brasileiras De Oxypetalum (Asclepiadoideae–Apocynaceae)¹
MORFOANATOMIA DE ESPÉCIES BRASILEIRAS DE OXYPETALUM (ASCLEPIADOIDEAE–APOCYNACEAE)¹ Nilda Marquete F. Andrade5 RESUMO (Morfoanatomia de espécies brasileiras de Oxypetalum (Asclepiadoideae–Apocynaceae). É apresentado o estudo morfoanatômico dos 25 táxons do gênero Oxypetalum, que reúne cerca de 130 espécies distribuídas na América Central e América do Sul. O presente trabalho apresenta a morfologia externa da flor juntamente com aspectos anatômicos, sob microscopia óptica e microscopia eletrônica de varredura (MEV). Presença de feixes bicolaterais, idioblastos cristalíferos e, nas regiões intersepalares, de coléteres são assinaladas. A corona consiste de cinco segmentos parenquimatosos vascularizados ou não. No que concerne ao estabelecimento dos transladores (retináculo e caudículas), verifica-se que são formados pela substância viscosa exsudada pelas células secretoras que revestem a cabeça estilar. Esses resultados possibilitam uma melhor compreensão das características florais e reconhecimento dos táxons dentro do gênero, principalmente a partir das variações observadas na corona, polinários e apêndices estilares. Palavras-chave: morfologia, anatomia, coléteres e transladores, Asclepiadaceae, MEV. ABSTRACT (Morpho-anatomy of Brazilian species of Oxypetalum (Asclepiadoideae–Apocynaceae). The morpho- anatomical studies in 25 taxa of Oxypetalum are presented. The genus comprises about 130 species distributed in Central and South America. The external morphology of the flower was studied together with the anatomic and SEM analysis, to provide better understanding of these organs. The presence of bicollateral bundles, crystalliferous idioblasts and sepals with colleter was observed. The corona consists of five parenchymatous lobes with or without vascularization. The translators (retinaculum and caudicula) are formed from a viscous exsudate of the secretory cells which cover the stylar head. -

Capítulo V. Asclepiadoideae do Espinhaço de Minas Gerais Asclepiadoideae (Apocynaceae) da Cadeia do Espinhaço de Minas Gerais, Brasil Abstract A survey of the Asclepiadoideae (Apocynaceae) of Espinhaço Range, Minas Gerais, Brazil, was prepared as part of the floristic studies conducted by Universidade de São Paulo in campos rupestres. The subfamily, traditionally known as Asclepiadaceae, comprises 99 species and 20 genera in the region. Most species are included in Ditassa R.Br. (41 spp.) and other genera of Metastelmatinae; Oxypetalum R.Br. (21 spp.) is, however, the second largest genus. The species are arranged according to their postulated affinities. Descriptions, synonymy, illustrations, and comments on the species and genera accepted in this study are provided. The diversity of Asclepiadoideae and the restricted geographical distribution of many species confirm the high rate of endemism characteristic of Espinhaço Range. This work has indicated several taxonomic problems that will require broader populational studies or worldwide analyses of particular taxonomic groups. Resumo O estudos das Asclepiadoideae (Apocynaceae) da Cadeia do Espinhaço de Minas Gerais, Brasil, foi preparado como parte dos estudos florísticos em desenvolvimento pela Universidade de São Paulo nos campos rupestres. A subfamília, tradicionalmente conhecida como Asclepiadaceae, conta com 99 espécies e 20 gêneros na região. A maior parte das espécies está incluída em Ditassa R.Br. (41 spp.) e outros gêneros classificados em Metastelmatinae; Oxypetalum R.Br. (21 spp.), porém, é o segundo maior gênero em número de espécies. As espécies estão organizadas de acordo com suas supostas afinidades. São apresentados descrições, sinonímia, ilustrações e comentários para as espécies e gêneros aceitos neste tratamento. -

Astephanopsis, and description of a new genus (Apocynaceae, Asclepiadoideae, Asclepiadeae, Metastelmatinae). Bonplandia 23(1): 25-31. Morilloa (Apocynaceae, Asclepiadoideae, Metastelmatinae) is described as a new genus close to Hemipogon sensu Decaisne and Fournier from which it is distinguished by significant morphological and biomolecular characters. Comprising four species: M. carassensis, M. furlanii, M. lutea and M. piranii, this new genus is restricted to Brazil, occurring in campo rupestre, cerrado and in forest borders in the States of Goiás, Bahia, Minas Gerais and São Paulo. Bonplandia 23(1): 25-31. Morilloa (Apocynaceae, Asclepiadoideae, Metastelmatinae) se describe como un nuevo género afín a Hemipogon sensu Decaisne y Fournier, del que se separa por caracteres morfológicos y biomoleculares significativos. Comprende cuatro especies:M. carassensis, M. furlanii, M. lutea y M. piranii, restringidas a Brasil donde crecen en campos rupestres, cerrados y borde de bosques, de los estados de Goiás, Bahia, Minas Gerais y São Paulo.
