We feel that this is such an important opportunity to meet so many schools and discuss future school options with Rose Hill staff. We were delighted to welcome Julie Lodrick, Headmistress at Kent College, Pembury as our guest speaker at this year’s event. Julie highlighted the choices between each independent school and the reasons for staying in your prep school until 13+. My thanks to all our senior professionals from over twenty excellent schools for supporting Rose Hill. Parents then had the opportunity to ‘visit’ a number of schools and talk to Rose Hill staff about planning their child’s next steps. Details of which can be found in this newsletter. As always, you are welcome to discuss future schools options with me. For an appointment do contact Ann Green on [email protected]. This morning, along with Coffee Connections, 3A reminded us of the incredibly important message of the power of growth mindset: learning is about making mistakes and we should support each other in the process. Their exciting assembly was told through story and song, retelling the wonderful book ‘The Girl Who Never Made Mistakes’ by Mark Pett and Gary Rubinstein. Well done 3A for your excellent assembly. Information regarding Film Night: Pick up time is 7.45pm from the Quad. Disco Night: Pick up time is 6pm from the Quad. Best wishes. • Please Note : All Recorded Crime Figures Within This Document Have Been Extracted from Our Crime Recording System on 30Th March 2006 and May Be Subject to Change
Please Note : All recorded crime figures within this document have been extracted from our crime recording system on 30th March 2006 and may be subject to change. The following report relates to recorded crimes for the period of 1st January 2005 to 28th February 2006. The crime recording system used by Kent Police does not have a specific field which enables identification of school premises. The means by which Kent Police has extracted the following data is through the use of specific wording recorded within the 'Modus Operandi (MO) Scene' field. Therefore, this data is based on :- 1) Those crimes that have been reported to Kent Police 2) Those that are defined as crimes and have subsequently been recorded by Kent Police 3) And, where the appropriate wording has been recorded in the 'MO Scene' field. Whilst the 'MO Scene' field records the crime as occurring on school premises, it does not necessarily reflect crimes committed within school hours or involving pupils/teachers. The data will include, for example, crimes to school property that occur overnight i.e. Criminal Damage, Arson and Burglary. It will also include crimes that occur in the vicinity of schools, but not necessarily against school property or within the school i.e. Theft of and from Vehicles and Theft of Pedal Cycles. It is also likely that a proportion of recorded Drug Offences will involve persons not associated with the school, but were committed on school grounds i.e. fields/outbuildings/sheds/garages. Although the crime may have occurred within the vicinity of a school, it may not have been reported by persons associated with the school and therefore, the school may be totally unaware of the crime.

School and College Key Stage 5 Achievement and Attainment Tables 2009 Kent and Medway FE40 Introduction These tables provide information on the achieve- ment and attainment of students of sixth-form Kent and Medway age in local secondary schools and further educa- FE40 tion sector colleges. Local Authorities covered: They also show how these results compare with Kent other schools and colleges in the area and in England as a whole. Medway The tables list, in alphabetical order and sub- divided by the local authority (LA), the further education sector colleges, maintained secondary schools and independent schools in the LSC area with students of sixth-form age. Special schools that have chosen to be included are also listed, and a inal section lists any sixth-form centres or consortia that operate in the area. Each entry gives information about the attainment of students at the end of study in general and applied A and AS level examinations and equiva- lent level 3 qualiication (otherwise referred to as the end of ‘Key Stage 5’). The information in these tables only provides part of the picture of the work done in schools and colleges. For example, colleges often provide for a wider range of student needs and include adults as well as young people among their students. The tables should be considered alongside other important sources of information such as Ofsted reports and school and college prospectuses. Ofsted school inspection reports can be found on Ofsted’s website at www.ofsted.gov.uk or direct from the school. Maintained schools must provide parents with prospectuses on request.
