We feel that this is such an important opportunity to meet so many schools and discuss future school options with Rose Hill staff. We were delighted to welcome Julie Lodrick, Headmistress at Kent College, Pembury as our guest speaker at this year’s event. Julie highlighted the choices between each independent school and the reasons for staying in your prep school until 13+. My thanks to all our senior professionals from over twenty excellent schools for supporting Rose Hill. Parents then had the opportunity to ‘visit’ a number of schools and talk to Rose Hill staff about planning their child’s next steps. Details of which can be found in this newsletter. As always, you are welcome to discuss future schools options with me. For an appointment do contact Ann Green on [email protected]. This morning, along with Coffee Connections, 3A reminded us of the incredibly important message of the power of growth mindset: learning is about making mistakes and we should support each other in the process. Their exciting assembly was told through story and song, retelling the wonderful book ‘The Girl Who Never Made Mistakes’ by Mark Pett and Gary Rubinstein. Well done 3A for your excellent assembly. Information regarding Film Night: Pick up time is 7.45pm from the Quad. Disco Night: Pick up time is 6pm from the Quad. Best wishes. In the meantime we will keep reminding our staff and pupils to continue the high standard of hand hygiene already in ef- fect at school. Juliet Makinson School Nurse Spring Term 2020, issue 4 KINDERGARTEN CHINESE NEW YEAR The children have been looking at Chinese New Year this week and Chinese culture. Some of the children have been playing in our Chinese restaurant role play area. Some of them wanted to be waiters and oth- ers wanted to be served. They ordered some noodles to eat with their chopsticks! 3B LOOK AFTER ROSIE 3B thoroughly enjoyed looking after Rosie this week. Every morning Rosie was put into her ball for a half hours exercise and different children took on the responsibility of collecting little treats for her from the dining room. Everyone thought she was very cute and enjoyed having the opportunity to stroke or hold her. YEAR 3 GEOGRAPHY In geography Year Three are investigating settlements. After looking at why settlements grew up in the areas they did, the children designed their own settlements using Plasticine.
