This report proposes “Master Plans” on long-term perspectives targeting the year of 2027 and “Action Plans” for priority projects which have been identified in the master plans for thematic four (4) infrastructure sectors, namely, 1) Roads and Urban Transportation; 2) Solid Waste Management; 3) Water Supply; and 4) Sewerage and Drainage Systems. Environmental and institutional discussions are also included to seek for a rational way to the implementation of proposed plans. This report was prepared under close coordination with the technical team working for Tirana Urban Regulatory Plan in terms of the population framework and economic activities in association with land use strategies to manage sustainable and balanced urban growth in the Tirana Metropolitan Area. Therefore, planning logics and concepts underlying these thematic plans have been coherent with the Regulatory Plan, because these plans are part of the Tirana Regulatory Plan.     Final Report, December 2012 The Project for Tirana Thematic Urban Planning 4.8 Public Transport Development Plan The growth of urbanization tends to change urban lifestyles and people’s values for goods and services. In this context, public transport services should satisfy various types of demands in the city. For planning the public transport development in this Study, there are two major strategic projects that have been given by the MOT: Development of an intermodal transportation terminal along with relocation of Tirana railway station, and Development of two tramlines: east-west (Kinostudio – Kombinat) and north-south (Intermodal Transportation Terminal – Student City). The public transport development is proposed to support the above core projects and to further expand the public transport network from aspects of tramlines development, bus transportation development, intermodal development, and commuter rail development. It is listed in Table 4.8.1 and presented in Figure 4.8.1. Furthermore, tramlines and bus transportation development projects were included in the future transit network, and the future demand was forecast as presented in Figure 4.8.2.     FIZIBILITETI STUDY PUBLIC TRANSPORT TERMINAL OF TIRANA Tirana on, Decmber 2016 1. BACKGROUND Brief Description of the Project Tirana currently has no bus terminal, with myriads of informal drop-off and loading locations having evolved over the years, which cause undue traffic congestion, air pollution, and pedestrian safety concerns. The project is proposed to solve an urban transport deficiency in the City, namely, the lack of a public transport terminal and addresses the urgent need to improve the status quo, which finds a disparate location pattern of boarding/alighting of passengers across the city by the some 20,000, with inter-city coaches and minibuses that enter and exit the city daily. There are about 70,000 vehicles registered in Tirana, about 30% of the nation’s total. About 80% of the vehicles use diesel fuel, releasing a volume of amount of particulate matter 20 times higher than petrol engines. Besides carbon monoxide, major pollutants caused by vehicles include Pb, S, CO2, NOx, O3 and SO2. With about 90% of the capital costs from the road transport, compared with 5% for rail and 2.5% for marine and aviation2, air pollution will remain a matter of concern. Furthermore, the main areas of air pollution in Tirana are at the intersections of major roads. In these sites, there is high concentration of pollution from vehicles, as the main source of environmental pressure in the Tirana region is traffic. To achieve CO2 emission reduction amid the anticipated continuing rapid growth in transport demand, the transport sector must seize all opportunities in a strategic way to promote ecotransport a way of sustainable transport development that is resources saving and environmentally friendly.

On the technical aspect, it preceded the birth of cinematography “the reproduction art of motions”, and later of television. Tirana’s history through photography includes many social aspects of life like history, science and education, culture, publicity, security, crime, sport, documentation, friend and family nostalgic memories. Photography inclusion in this study gave a push to a more in-depth and fundamental research in the archives of the Republic of Albania, in the published albums of local and foreign photographers in order to select the most aesthetically achieved photos. The study of Tirana through photography of the previous years has enabled hence the title “Tirana, a history through the camera’s lens” because after every frame the public finds images that are suited to such a title”. Images in the focus of the camera bear problems related to downtown urban areas of Tirana that began in the 17th and 18th century. Today, the social complex of Suleiman Pasha Ballgjini is accepted as the artistic representation of this period, made up of a mosque and madras, a minaret and a public bath supplied with water from a fountain into the mosque. In photo frames there is also the center of Tirana, a monumental ensemble that started to be built in the years 1929-1930-1931, conceived by the Italian architects Armando Brasini and Florestano de Fausto.
