I COMPASS • Newsletter of the South Shore Yacht Club, Milwaukee, Wisconsin July/August, 2003 Queen's Cup Race in Review by Terry Case espite the weather, the Queen's Cup Race of 2003 was a great success. There were many positive comments about the food and the band at the Thursday Dnight cocl<tail party. There were many positive comments about our bar and restaurant facilities and the Club in general. The weather again affected the Friday race start but most liked using the "Denis Sullivan" as the starting boat. I spoke to the Captain later and they will help us again for next year's race. Although the race was slow we received good comments from the finishers. The Saturday morning weather again did not cooperate, but the afternoon parties were very COMPASS successful, including the 45-piece clown band. Muskegon YC sold out of food and the bar was full all day and they are interested in hosting the event again in 2005. LAT. 43° 0 MIN. N LONG. 87° 53 MIN. W The success of this event is made possible by all of the talented people that volunteered their time to make it work. We owe countless thanks to everyone involved.
