    TRABAJO ORIGINAL Análisis de los casos clínicos presentados en la serie médica televisiva Dr. House Analysis of the clinical cases presented in House M.D., the medical television drama. Germán Valenzuela-Rodríguez1 RESUMEN Objetivo. Analizar los casos clínicos presentados en las primeras siete temporadas de la serie médica televisiva Dr. House. Material y métodos. Estudio prospectivo, observacional, utilizando una ficha de recolección de datos. Resultados. Ciento cuarentaicinco casos clínicos fueron evaluados. La edad promedio de los pacientes fue de 28,48 años (DE: 13,56). Setentaisiete (53,10%) fueron de sexo masculino. Ciento treintainueve pacientes (95,86%) fueron casos de su hospital. Los casos clínicos estuvieron relacionados predominantemente con las subespecialidades médicas de infectología (31,72%), medicina interna (17,24%), toxicología (13,79%), oncología (9,65%) e inmunorreumatología (8,27%), entre las más frecuentes. Trece casos (8,96%) estuvieron referidos a enfermedades de muy baja frecuencia. Conclusiones. Los casos clínicos presentados estuvieron relacionados con medicina interna o sus subespecialidades, incluyendo algunas enfermedades de muy baja frecuencia. Para su diagnóstico y tratamiento, la serie presenta muchos dilemas éticos y errores de concepción de los sistemas de salud y sus componentes. Palabras clave.     Police powers in the COVID-19 context This guidance note has been written by Ashley Chrystall, Wellington Community Justice Project, and covers information relating to making reports during the COVID-19 lockdown, police powers to enter your home and to stop you while you are outside or on the road, as well as powers of arrest. Making reports How do I report lockdown breaches? To report an individual or business breaching any of the current alert level restrictions, you can fill out the form on the Police website. If you have concerns regarding people who are not self-isolating when they should be, you can email the dedicated Ministry of Health email address. What can the police do if I report breaches during the COVID-19 lockdown? The police will educate anyone breaking lockdown rules and can enforce these rules if necessary (discussed below). Police will be patrolling streets with a focus on maintaining law and order and preventing harm. They will deal appropriately with anyone attempting to exploit the restrictions in place. During the lockdown, police have special powers available under various pieces of legislation, including the Health Act 1956, the Summary Offences Act 1981, and the Civil Defence Emergency Act 2002. Breach consequences include warnings through to prosecutions if necessary. If I see someone breaking the COVID-19 lockdown rules, should I handle it myself? If it is safe to do so, police advise having a polite conversation with the individual/s breaching lockdown restrictions, at a two metre distance, in the first instance. The best way to handle a breach of the COVID-19 lockdown is to contact the authorities and inform them of any breaches.

She is seen at the beginning of the episode singing Christina Aguilera’s Beautiful as she puts on a wig and smiles at herself in the mirror. But she has a frightening hallucination and has to go to hospital where she becomes Dr House’s patient. Dr House is not just bothered about her condition but about why she is so brave, helping her mother cope with the worry and fears about her illness and comforting her. Dr House doesn’t believe that a nine year old can be that brave and thinks it’s a symptom of disease. During one procedure where Dr Chase is performing the tests, Andy says she has never kissed a boy and wonders what it would be like. Dr Chase says there is plenty of time for that, but Andy says she may die without ever having experienced kissing a boy. She asks Dr Chase to kiss her. Dr Chase says no at first, but changes his mind and kisses her gently on the lips. Back in the office, the team speculate whether Andy has ever been sexually molested which Dr Chase denies saying that he believed her when she said she’d never been kissed. Dr House is cynical and says she’s learned how to manipulate people from being abused then correctly guesses that Dr Chase kissed her when she asked.

In an overarching sense, I am informed by scholars like Lennard Davis and Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick. According to Davis in Bending Over Backwards, the focus of Disability Studies is to re-imagine the body from the "ideology of normalcy" to a "vision of the body as changeable, unperfectable, unruly, and untidy" (39).1 In a similar drive to question normalcy, according to Kosofsky Sedgwick in Tendencies, Queer Studies is an antihomophobic inquiry that examines sexuality and gender as unstable categories that "aren't made (or can't be made) to signify monolithically"(8). These fields share the practice of interrogating identities that are written on the body through cultural inscriptions of "normalcy." House works as a diagnostician at the Princeton-Plainsboro Hospital where he employs a team of young doctors who aspire to achieve greater success in their careers . Being a member of House’s team is a privilege, yet the team members must be able to tolerate Dr . House’s caustic sense of humor . Because of Dr . House’s brilliance, his coworkers and bosses alike tend to overlook his deviant and childish behaviors . Even though Dr . House’s leg causes him to be in severe pain every day, and has contributed to his negative outlook on life, both his patients and coworkers do not have much sympathy for him . The main goals of House’s outlandish behaviors are to solve the puzzle of his patients’ medical cases . Dr . House handpicks the patients whom he finds have interesting medical quandaries and attempts to diagnose them . By conferring with his team, and “asking” for permission from Dr . Lisa Cuddy, Dr . House is able to treat the patients as he sees fit . He usually does not diagnose the patients correctly the first time . House Wren (Troglodytesaedon) nest-destroying behavior was studied by experi- mentally offering 38 wrens nestswith eggs(or nestlings)throughout the nesting season.Individuals of both sexespecked all six types of eggspresented, regardless of the nest type and location. House Wrens also attacked conspecificyoung. Older nestlings(nine days old) were less vulnerable than three-day-old young. Our resultssuggest that nest-destroyingbehavior is inherent in all adult House Wrens but is inhibited in mated males and breeding females. It is suggestedthat nest destruction may have evolved as an interference mechanism reducing intra- and interspecific competition.
