nickelback feed the machine album download zip Dark Horse. Nickelback are not known for their insight, but Chad Kroeger's caterwauling claim that "we got no class, no taste" on "Burn It to the Ground," the second song on their sixth album, Dark Horse, is a slice of perceptive, precise self-examination. Nickelback are a gnarled, vulgar band reveling in their ignorance of the very notion of taste, lacking either the smarts or savvy to wallow in bad taste so they just get ugly, knocking out knuckle- dragging riffs that seem rarefied in comparison to their thick, boneheaded words. Of the two, the music is far less offensive, particularly on Dark Horse, where they work with the legendary producer Robert "Mutt" Lange, the sonic architect behind Back in Black and Pyromania, two of hard rock's towering monuments. Mutt Lange decides to give Nickelback a production caught somewhere between the two extremes of AC/DC and Def Leppard, pumping up some muscle on Nickelback's heaviest rockers and adding some color to their power ballads, suggesting some heretofore verboten suggestions of modernity in the form of electronic rhythms, even taking it to the extreme of adding drum loops to the surefire crossover hit "Gotta Be Somebody." Nickelback do manage to shed their leathery rock skin a couple of times, first with an arena-rocking "Burn It to the Ground" and then echoing Toby Keith's "Let's Talk About Us" on the white-boy rap pre-chorus for "Something in Your Mouth," but these are mere glimpses of something unpredictable; Dark Horse was constructed entirely from the group's standard templates of bleating power ballads and dulled hard rock. Guitars in the foreground, musclebound rhythms and grandiose vocals: It never occurred to Nickelback to take up deep house or electro dub on their ninth album, then. With Feed The Machine , the Canadians remain faithful to their fundamentals, balancing hard riffs with addictive melodies. The gang from Alberta still has the major advantage that is singer Chad Kroeger, virtuoso vocalist whose voice is paraded to perfect effect amidst the guitar tsunami that he unleashes alongside his rhythm guitarist Ryan Peake. One could, of course, accuse Nickelback of resting on their laurels somewhat, but you've got to admit that the XXL hard stadium rock of, Feed The Machine does what it says on the tin. © CM/Qobuz. Being a very big fan of this band for the last 15 years I can say that im very happy with this record and the quality of the pressing. The sound quality is very good, no clicks or pop and minimal surface noise in addition to the very beautiful semi translucent Burgundy pressing with the black marbling. The printed inner sleeve looks great even though it would've been nice for it to be polly lined but you can just put in a plastic sleeve to replace it and theres no problem there. The lyric sheet is great but its missing the ones for the first track. All in all a great addition to anyones collection and a cool, unique and quality pressing for sure. Only needs a gatefold to make it perfect. GetCrazyWCheeseWhiz. After years of making music to please the masses, its evident that Nickelback are now trying to make music that is genuinely good. And while they mostly succeed here, there are a few missteps as well. The album’s title track is one of the best songs the band has made ever sense The State, all the way back in 1998. Coin For The Ferryman and The Betrayal (Act III) follow this trend as well, being some of the best songs we've heard from the band in a long time. Tracks like Song On Fire, After The Rain, and Home are all nice slower songs, and they all sound like they were coming from a very special place, something unusual for Nickelback. I think Home is the best out of the three. For The River is somewhat generic, like a lot of their other work, but it’s not bad by any means. A good headbanger for sure. The two bad songs in my opinion are Every Time We’re Together and Must Be Nice. ESPECIALLY Must Be Nice! It does have a catchy guitar riff, I’ll give it that, but it’s completely overshadowed by the horrendous lyrics. Chad can write well if he wants to, and he does on most of this album, but oh my gosh this is bad. Every Time We’re Together is just bland, it’s a rehash of When We Stand Together, and nothing more, but that's really it. The rest of it is pretty solid. The album ends with The Betrayal (Act I), an instrumental from Nickelback of all bands. It's quite pretty, and a nice way to end off a record. Overall, Nickelback’s newest outing is a mostly solid effort, and I don’t regret picking this one up on vinyl.
