Staff: Kristina Martel, LICA Executive Director Tricia Fleming, Environmental Coordinator Tina Johnson, LICA Administrative Professional Rachel Bates, Education & Outreach Coordinator Regrets: Jason Quinney Delano Tolley Mitch Sylvestre Clem Parenteau Richard Pearce Shelby Kennedy Maureen Delorme-Ouellette Dylan Landstrom Bob Buckle Integrated Watershed Management Plan Committee Minutes – January 19, 2021 Page - 1 ________ Initials 1.0 CALL TO ORDER Amanda Avery-Bibo, LICA Board Chairperson, called the meeting to order at 1:20 p.m. 1.1 Introductions 1.2 Attendance 1.3 Vision, Mission and Values 1.4 Approval of Agenda #1 Moved by Richard Bourgeois AND CARRIED that the January 19, 2021, Agenda be approved as presented. 1.5 Approval of Minutes 1.5.1 December 9, 2020 IWMPC Minutes - Draft #2 Moved by Monty Moore AND CARRIED that the December 9, 2020, Minutes be approved as presented. 2.0 ONGOING BUSINESS 2.1 Draft Beaver River IWMP Terms of Reference 2.1.1 Presentation of feedback and revisions Sandi from Palliser Environmental presented the feedback and revisions made to the Beaver River IWMP Terms of Reference (ToR) based on the IWMPC discussions held at the December 9th, 2020 meeting and feedback provided via email. 2.1.2 Draft Beaver River IWMP ToR The revised Beaver River IWMP ToR was presented to the Committee for review and approval. #3 Moved by Bob Machatis AND CARRIED that the Beaver River IWMP Terms of Reference provided by Palliser Environmental be approved as amended: • The addition of the forestry sector to the list of engagement session participants outlined within item 6.4 Format, Schedule, and Tools Integrated Watershed Management Plan Committee Minutes – January 19, 2021 Page - 2 ________ Initials 2.2 Engagement Session 1 2.2.1 Summary Document Sandi from Palliser Environmental presented the Summary Document, noting it will reflect the amended ToR document. #4 Moved by Roxane Bretzlaff AND CARRIED that the Summary Document be accepted as amended: • The addition of the forestry sector under Stakeholder Participants 2.2.2 Survey The IWMPC was presented with a survey intended to be distributed during engagement session 1. The Committee requested the following changes prior to approving the Survey: • Investigate whether an interactive map component can be included within the survey. • Consolidate questions regarding priority ranking. • Include one or more questions regarding survey format. An amended copy of the survey will be sent out via email for Committee approval. 2.2.3 Format and Expectations The Environmental Coordinator note that engagement sessions are likely to begin virtually to align with AHS guidelines. The format will include an overview of the IWMP followed by a discussion of issues in the watershed. The meeting will conclude with an evaluation of the engagement session. It is the expectation of LICA that Committee members will attempt to attend the engagement session in their respective region. Due to time constraints between now and the first round of engagement sessions, the Committee will be engaged via email on final document review and approval rather than hosting another Committee Meeting. 3.0 ACTION LIST 3.1 Follow-up on Action List 3.1.1 December 9, 2020 The IWMP Committee reviewed the action list from the December 9, 2020, IWMP Meeting.
