Solheim Cup Format Rules of Play A Non-Posting Round A and B Players: Gold C and D Players: Silver Tees

Handicaps: (100%) • Strokes based on the higher partner for the 1st 6 holes, alternate shot. • Strokes of each partner used for the 2nd 6 holes, 1 better ball of partners. • Strokes based on the lower handicap partner for the 3rd 6 holes, scramble.

Format: : 6 holes each of Alternate Shot, Better Ball, & Scramble. Within your foursome, you are playing as (2) two-person teams. All players receive 100% HCP (not playing from lowest HCP). The first 6 holes uses the 2 person teams high handicap player’s “pops”. The 2nd 6 holes uses each player’ “pops”. The last 6 holes uses the team’s lowest handicap player’s “pops”. There are signs at each hole to remind you which format is being played for that particular hole.

Scorecard: Record your individual or pair Gross score on the player line(s). Record the Match Play (format) points on the Team lines. (1, ½, or 0 points for each format) After play: Total the Match Play Points, determine which team won the match, sign your scorecard at the bottom. (no posting day), and turn in scorecard to Fernie in the .

Report Results: Fernie and the captains report the results for each team. Report a maximum of 3 points: 1 point for winning a format. ½ point for tying a format. 0 points for losing a format.

Chapman - Alternate Shot, Holes 1-6 (each pairs’ handicap based on the player with the higher index): • Both Partners off on each hole. Hit each other’s . Select the best second shot. The third shot is hit by the teammate who did not hit the second shot. Continue to alternate shots until the ball is holed. • In this format, PLAY IT AS IT LIES. • If Player A of a pair hits the ball into a area or OB, Player B plays the next shot (proceeding under the appropriate penalty area or OB rule). If in a penalty area and if pair elects to take a penalty, Player B will be hitting.

Better Ball, Holes 7-12: Each player plays her own ball (PLAY IT AS IT LIES). Record gross ball of each player. Best 1 net ball of the partners wins the hole. Each player receives her normal course handicap (100%). Please pick up if your partner is in with a better score.

Scramble, Holes 13-18: (each pairs’ handicap based on the player with the lower index): • Each pair is playing a two-person scramble. Both partners tee off. Select the best drive. Both partners play the second shot from the location of the best drive. Continue this process until the ball is holed. • You may lift, clean & place within one club length of the original position of the ball – no closer to the hole. You may NOT use the club length to get out of a penalty area or bunker. You may change from one cut to another (i.e. rough to fairway) if it is within one club length. • On the putting green, the ball is to be placed as near as possible to the original ball position. • If you choose to play from a bunker, the bunker may be raked between shots.
