In 2019, the global FemTech market generated $ 820.6 million, with a market value estimated to be worth $ 50 billion by 2025 (Frost & Sullivan) Tech4Eva, the first FemTech accelerator in Switzerland, is a joint endeavour between the leading technology park in Switzerland, EPFL Innovation Park and health insurer Groupe Mutuel. Ferring Pharmaceuticals is also a key corporate sponsor of the program. 2 The program Tech4Eva Accelerator Program The program has the ambition to accelerate the growth of promising Femtech start-ups, and to create an innovation platform in Switzerland, where disruptive start-ups and projects from around the globe can meet and develop innovative solutions for improving or advancing technologies Lan Zuo Gillet relating to women’s health. It also aims EPFL Innovation Park to create a global FemTech community by connecting all stakeholders in different markets active in the sector. The first cohort of the program received over 110 early and growth stage start-ups applications from around the globe - 34 of those are Swiss-based - 70 of which are led by Nicolas Loeillot women founders. Groupe Mutuel Tech4Eva’s 9-month acceleration program consists of multi-layer activities, such as mentorship by corporate experts, specialized workshops, roadshows, peer-to-peer experience, training curriculum as well as focus groups in different areas of FemTech. It will help selected start-up companies and early stage projects to refine their business models and go-to-market process strategy, develop pilot projects with potential business partners; it will assist more mature start-ups in their business development process and connect them with potential investors and customers by leveraging the network of EPFL Innovation Park and Groupe Mutuel, the network of their partners in the FemTech: Fermata (Asia), Women in Wearables (UK), Joyance Partners in USA, as well as governmental agencies such as Swiss Embassy UK, Swissnex Boston and SGE Japan. 3 Zurich Roadshow Tech4Eva Zurich Roadshow The second virtual Roadshow of Tech4Eva is taking place on July 1st, 2021 with the intention to convene investors, corporate representatives, health systems and innovators to discuss the importance of investing and supporting women’s health. The Roadshow is the opportunity to learn how to transform an untapped segment in the healthcare industry and to meet the 15 growth-stage Tech4Eva start-ups that will present their innovative solutions addressing issues in Fertility & Pregnancy, Women’s Wellness, Women’s Medicine, Period Health, Menopause and Mental Health. Swiss-based investors and leaders in healthcare will share business resources, market opportunities and investment options available to aspiring entrepreneurs and established business owners working to advance health technological solutions. He is specialised on business transformation and product launches within regulated industries such as pharma.Developing a natural obsession for creating new customer experiences, Haider disrupts the way global organisations adopt new marketing and technology trends. Entrepreneur, he founded his first company at 16 in the East of France, specialised in political campaigns and social media. In 2013 he founded one of the fastest-growing consulting and venture firms in Switzerland, supporting companies like PregLem SA, sold to Gedeon Richter for 500M€. In 2015, he founded the Swiss hub of the French Tech initiative, created by the French President Emmanuel Macron. Oender Boyman Investment Principal, Swiss Post Ventures Working as an Investment Principal for Swiss Post Ventures, the venture investment arm of Swiss Post. Up to present, Oender has worked as Strategy Consultant, Business Developer and Product Strategist in an international setting for the finance and healthcare sectors. In addition he has built up a digital health company offering a Medical Symptom Checker licensed to clients via a digital self- service portal. Has a high interest in data-driven innovation. Marta Gehring Business Development & Marketing Strategist, Swiss Biotech Association Marta is a business development and marketing strategist with track record in Biotech and Medical Devices with leading multinationals and young innovators. Following a career in marketing and commercial operations with Merck-Serono and then Medtronic, Marta has worked in woman’s health, ophthalmology, headache, hypertension, heart failure, orthobiologics, GI disease, neuropathic pain, biomarkers, digital health and the active implantables space. Marta has extensive experience working with young innovators to bring their technologies to market. She is member of the Program Management Committee of the School for Biomedical Entrepreneurship (SITEM) of the University of Bern. where she teaches Innovation and medical marketing and sales. She also serves as Western Switzerland Liaison for the Swiss Biotech Association and is a trainer with Innosuisse at the EPFL Innovation Park . 6 Zurich Roadshow Caroline Gueissaz General Manager, Business Angels Switzerland MSc in Industrial Engineering from the ETHZ, Caroline Gueissaz made the biggest part of her career at IBM in sales and management consulting both in Switzerland and internationally (London, Paris, Moscow). As International relations manager at the Economic Development of the Canton of Neuchâtel, she helped several companies settle in Switzerland. Since 2002, she has worked in M&A with A.Vaccani@Partners and managed an Advanced Management Programme for CRPM (management education). From 2005 to 2017, she was a member of the local cantonal Parliament.In 2007, she co- founded the Business Angels Switzerland in the French part of Switzerland and has led it to be one of the main local players in the world of start-ups. Since 2016 she is General Manager of BAS. She is a member of the jury for Venture Kick, Innosuisse Entrepreneurship Training, Startup Invest etc. She is a board member at SERV (Swiss Export Credit Agency) and at another SME, president of ASEN- Entreprendre and vice-president of snse in Neuchâtel. Throughout her professional career, she assisted Pharma and health clients in the USA and Europe with the development of innovative business models towards an ecosystem building approach. She has a major interest and passion in personalized health by advocating a holistic approach driven by 3Ps (Patients, Providers, Payers), data, behavior changes and digital transformation.She supported her clients with the assessment of opportunities in the Femtech industry, a trend that will democratize women personalized health beyond fertility.
