Such communities grow on limestone, chalk, gypsum and other kinds of rocks of the Devon and Paleogene period dispersed throughout Western and Central Podillia. The relief, geological structure, soil, distribution factors caused by climate, specificity and diversity of the communities and their particular floristic qualities are highlighted. A STUDY OF SELECTED SITES OF MEMORY Violetta JULKOWSKA Adam Mickiewicz University Poznan ABSTRACT Th e topic of text is the problem of Prussian cultural heritage of Lower Silesia, seen from two diff erent perspectives. First, the historical moment of this heritage appearing is introduced and second, the way of its contemporary presence and connected cultiural problems. As a key study were discussed from both perspectives: evangelical church in Karpacz so-called Wang Temple (brought in fi rst half of XIX-th century by Prussian king Wilhelm III from Norway) – nowadays under protection of polish evangelical parish; also: life and charity work of Marianna Orańska – owner of the castle in Kamieniec Ząbkowicki and neighbourhood grounds – nowadays touristic route leading on the borderland of Poland and Czech Republic, following in Marianna’s steps and history of evangelical community from Tyrol, brought to Mysłakowice by Prussian king Wilhelm III – nowadays Tyrol’s House lead by Zierthall commune from Austria. KEYWORDS: sites of memory; cultural identity; heritage; church Wang; Marianna Orańska; evangelical community from Tyrol; Lower Silesia; cultural tourism. 19 THE PRESENCE OF THE PAST HISTORICAL COMPLEXITY OF THE STUDIES INTO THE 19TH-CENTURY HERITAGE OF MEMORY OF LOWER SILESIA Lower Silesia is a region unusually saturated with objects of multicultural herit- age, making it stand out among the historical regions of Central Europe. Th is relatively small area had a turbulent past, while the location at the intersection of major European routes, the fame of natural resources, and good farming conditions att racted several waves of sett lement. -

However, over the last several centuries this region has experienced intense land-use conversion. The most widespread and significant land-use change is the extensive cultivation of these soils. As a result, Chernozems of the region that were some of the most naturally fertile soils in the world with thick A horizons had become, by the second half of the 19th century, weakly productive, with decreased stocks of organic matter. -

Meleshkina to his agent-focused vehicle of analysis disclosing the power interactions in Inter- marium, the authors advance an alterna- tive structure-focused model of the Baltic- Pontic system (BPS) as a multidimensional evolving space of heterogeneous interac- tions, which include cooperation. -
The Late Paleolithic Art of the Steppes in the Northern Black Seaside and the Sea of Azov Side
PAPERS Valcamonica Symposium 2007 The Late Paleolithic Art of the steppes in the Northern Black Seaside and the Sea of Azov Side by Victor S. Vetrov* ABSTRACT The Late Paleolithic Age in the steppe zone of the Northern Black Seaside and the Sea of Azov Side is a very interest- ing phenomenon. The hunt after the herd hoofed animals became the reason of the occurrence of the nomad hunters’ economy with its specificity. It has found the reflection in the features of the sites’ device, specificity of the economic objects’ designs and other features of the Paleolithic hunters life. Has it found the reflection in the art these society? when the general analysis of the mobile art’s goods of this region has been done we consider that it is possible to put the question about the allocation of the Northern Black Seaside and the Sea of Azov Side in a separate area of the late Paleolithic art’s development. This region has the characteristic features and contrastly allocated on a background of the late Paleolithic art of the neighbor areas. On the base of the analysis of the mobile art’s goods it is also possible to consider the information contacts peripheral societies of the steppe zone.
