“If I am elected to the United States Senate, I will serve no more than two terms. I don’t want to be a lifelong politician,” Mark Warner. Fellow Virginians, veterans, and friends, Mark Warner has misused his office, abandoned any pretense of leadership, and betrayed the people of Virginia. As President Dwight D. Eisenhower would say, leadership is not only accepting responsibility to carry out a mission, but also accepting responsibility for how that mission is carried out. Mark Warner’s failure in both areas reflects his malfeasance as a Senator and his violation of the trust of the people of Virginia. Mark Warner abused his position as the ranking member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI) to promote an illegal partisan political attempt by disgraced senior career officials such as former FBI Director James Comey, former Director of Central Intelligence John Brennan, and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper to undermine and topple the Trump Administration using false information and abusing our intelligence assets against opponents. Worse, he also actively participated in that effort. Mark Warner knew from the outset that the hyped “Russia collusion” allegation was not credible and was based on Russian disinformation materials bought and pushed by the Clinton campaign as a smear -- a fact known both to Russian and American intelligence at the highest ranks at the time. Mark Warner also knew that this attack was a politically-motivated operation within the higher ranks of career officials aimed at undermining and hobbling the incoming administration. Yet where was Mark Warner as these acts were committed? We know that all along as vice chair of SSCI, he saw the discredited documents and heard the background briefings and knew they had been discredited – yet he promoted the falsehood and damaged American security. He falsely claimed there were “enormous amounts of evidence of collusion," but when pressed, he was unable to produce any evidence. Instead, he cherry picked information to help launch and stoke an equally fraudulent “investigation,” aimed at paralyzing the government. Mark Warner was in on it. But Mark Warner made matters worse by evading his responsibility as a leader within the government for the very people he was supposed to help lead. In backing Director Comey, he threw the honest rank and file officials under the bus even as they raised red flags on the “collusion” story and sought to warn Congress and the public of the abuses they saw. Instead of speaking up and supporting professionals across the intelligence community, he instead supported those senior officials seeking to obscure and bury information and thereby mislead investigators and the public. Now, he is helping to cover up shameful shadow operations even as these abuses continue to be revealed. Mark Warner is protecting the former principals of the FBI and the intelligence community rather than the subordinates he leads in this attempt to destroy a presidency. Mark Warner, the flip flop, “me too” senator has been an ineffectual leader even within the Senate. He can’t sponsor or co-sponsor a significant, meaningful bill, only sign on to the work of others. Mark Warner is no leader. The front line rank officials he betrayed deserve better. Virginians must demand better. Daniel Gade has demonstrated leadership based on integrity, principled responsibility and earned loyalty. Once again, as Ike would say, "leadership is not only accepting responsibility to carry out a mission, but also accepting responsibility for how that mission is carried out." Declassified Evidence As the ranking minority member on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, Mark Warner knew in 2016 the Russia collusion was a hoax designed to hurt President Trump. He had access to all the briefings and evidence. He failed to be the adult voice of truth and went along with the game. Only two conclusions can be drawn; either Mark Warner willfully misled Americans, or he was grossly incompetent in executing his responsibilities. The game being played is clearly in the letter from DNI John Ratcliffe to Senator Lindsey Graham below: Events with Daniel Gade Sunday October 11th 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM The Pavilion At Shenandoah Woods 181 Log Cabin Drive Stanley, VA 22851 RSVP [email protected] Sunday October 11th 2:00 - 4:00 PM Callahan Farm 150 Boone Bernard Drive Boones Mill, VA 24065 Sponsorships are encouraged but not required. "Throughout my Marine Corps career, I was blessed to have had leaders that I would be proud to follow anywhere because of their selfless dedication to our country, their personal and professional integrity, their thorough understanding of the task at hand, and their ability to trust those they led to accomplish that which was required. Daniel Gade is such a leader. His commitment to country is unsurpassed. He will provide our beloved state and country the leadership it so desperately needs and he will do this because he has always done so. I whole-heartedly endorse Daniel’s candidacy to the United States Senate and encourage all my brothers and sisters in arms to join the Gade Brigade and elect Daniel as our next Senator from Virginia." Jim Roberts President of American Veterans Center Vietnam Veteran "Daniel Gade is everything I'm looking for in a U.S. Senator. He demonstrated tremendous courage and love of country while deployed to Iraq where he was wounded in action necessitating the amputation of his right leg. More than 40 follow-up surgeries gave Lt. Col.(R) Gade an intense, personal understanding of the problems and issues affecting veterans which he used to support veterans while working with the V.A. during the Bush administration. I particularly like his idea that all members of Congress should be required to have the same health insurance as veterans do. Dr. Gade has superb academic credentials and served as a professor at West Point and American University, teaching policy and ethics With his background as a military leader, teacher, family man, policy analyst and member of two presidential administrations, Daniel Gade is uniquely well-qualified to be a great United States Senator Virginia and I enthusiastically endorse him.
