CANADIAN‐OBITS 1943‐2011 Compiled by Elaine PUTNAM for THE BELGIAN RESEARCHERS, Inc [Pick the date] BLENHEIM NEWS TRIBUNE - 6 February 1946 Mrs. DeClerck dies at Tilbury Funeral Services were held last Friday morning in the local Roman Catholic Church for the late Mrs. Emily DeClerck1 who passed away recently at the home of her son, Ernest of Romney Township. In the year 1931, the Belgian-Dutch residents of this district gathered to celebrate the golden anniversary of the deceased lady and her husband, the late Henry DeClerck who predeceased his wife in 1934, passing away in Harwich Township. Mrs. DeClerck was born in Belgium. The deceased is survived by four sons, Odell of Moline Ill., Cyriel of Wheatley, Ernest of Romney and Maurice of this town; and two daughters, Mrs. Dave Haven of Chatham and Mrs. Julius VanHorne of Delhi. There are 22 grandchildren. Services were held on Friday morning from the funeral home of J.A. Mass (should be Masse) and Son, Tilbury, and from thence the remains were conveyed to the Roman Catholic Church here, (note - this would be St. Mary's R.C. Church, Blenheim, Ontario) where services were held at 10:00 a.m. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery 1 This woman is the mother of Maurice DeClerck who married Zelma Irene VanGheluwe daughter of Theophile and Alexis (Reynaert) VanGheluwe Blenheim News Tribune, Blenheim, Ontario - page 20 - March 9, 1955 Service Thursday for A. VanGheluwe Mr. August VanGheluwe2, highly respected former Blenheim district farmer passed away Monday in St. Thomas at the age of 76 after a 2 year illness. Son of the late Henry VanGheluwe and Sarah vanderpeta (note - should read VandePutte), he was born in Belgium and came to Canada in 1909. Mr. VanGheluwe first lived in Alberta before coming to this district in 1928 where he farmed in Raleigh and Harwich Township. He was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. Surviving are one brother Theophil of Blenheim, two sisters residing in Belgium and several nieces and nephews. Remains are resting at the Needham-Ford funeral Home where prayers will be offered on Wednesday evening at 8:00 o'clock. Services will be conducted on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church by Rev. Willibroerd. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. MORTIER, beloved husband of Margarite (Kimpe) Mortier, born November 14, 1914 - died July 17, 1964. – The Hinnegan Funeral Home, Chatham, Ontario Blenheim News Tribune, Blenheim, Ontario - page18 - Thursday September 7, 1967 Requiem High Mass was said at 10:00 a.m. this morning (Thursday) at St. Mary's roman Catholic Church for Alice (name was anglicized should read Alexis) VanGheluwe R.R.#1 Blenheim, who died Monday in St. Joseph's Hospital, Chatham, following a heart attack. Mrs. VanGheluwe, 82 was born in Belgium. She came to Canada in 1905 (note-this is incorrect, she in fact came to Detroit Michigan to her father, Alfons Reynaert with her mother Celina Soete). She and her husband farmed for many years before retiring to live in Blenheim. A highly respected resident of the area, Mr. VanGheluwe was a member of St. Mary's Church and of the Catholic Women's League. Surviving are her husband, Theo, five daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Lena) DeBaene, Chatham, Mrs. Maurice (Zelma) DeClerck, Blenheim, Mrs. Gus (Florence) DeWachter, Merlin, Mrs. Alfred (Mary) Pepper, R.R.#2 Blenheim, Mrs. Lorraine Lockie, Windsor. One brother, Florent, Florida; 2 sisters Mrs. Helen DeMeerleer and Mrs. Henry DeMeerleer, both of Belgium (note - this is incorrect, the sisters were residents of Detroit Michigan area and Florida), eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive. Services Thursday were in charge of Fr. Bernard. Prayers were offered at the J.L. Ford Funeral Home Wednesday Evening. Organist and soloist at the mass was Alphonse DeWitte. Chronological Events Natural Heritage Values 2000-2012 Cultural Heritage Values Recreational Values Thames River Integrity Guidelines Executive Summary Executive Summary The Thames River nomination for inclusion in the Canadian Heritage Rivers System (CHRS) was accepted by the CHRS Board in 1997. The nomination document was produced by the Thames River Coordinating Committee, a volunteer group of individuals and agency representatives, supported by the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority (UTRCA) and Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority (LTVCA). The Thames River and its watershed were nominated on the basis of their significant human heritage features and recreational values. Although the Thames River possesses an outstanding natural heritage which contributes to its human heritage and recreational values, CHRS integrity guidelines precluded nomination of the Thames based on natural heritage values because of the presence of impoundments.

Blechle 2016 All Rights Reserved ABSTRACT INVESTIGATIONS OF NITROGEN OXIDE PLASMAS: FUNDAMENTAL CHEMISTRY AND SURFACE REACTIVITY AND MONITORING STUDENT PERCEPTIONS IN A GENERAL CHEMISTRY RECITATION Part I of this dissertation focuses on investigations of nitrogen oxide plasma systems. With increasing concerns over the environmental presence of NxOy species, there is growing interest in utilizing plasma-assisted conversion techniques. Advances, however, have been limited because of the lack of knowledge regarding the fundamental chemistry of these plasma systems. Understanding the kinetics and thermodynamics of processes in these systems is vital to realizing their potential in a range of applications. Unraveling the complex chemical nature of these systems, however, presents numerous challenges. As such, this work serves as a foundational step in the diagnostics and assessment of these NxOy plasmas. The partitioning of energy within the plasma system is essential to unraveling these complications as it provides insight into both gas and surface reactivity. To obtain this information, techniques such as optical emission spectroscopy (OES), broadband absorption spectroscopy (BAS), and laser induced fluorescence (LIF) were utilized to determine species energetics (vibrational, rotational, translational temperatures). These temperature data provide mechanistic insight and establish the relationships between system parameters and energetic outcomes.

    Interactions of the enteric nervous system with the gut microbiome in the neuroligin-3R451C mouse model of autism M.H.M. Madusani Herath Submitted in total fulfilment of the requirements of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy September 2020 Department of Physiology The University of Melbourne ABSTRACT Autism patients are four times more likely to be hospitalized due to gastrointestinal (GI) dysfunction compared to the general public. However, the exact cause of GI dysfunction in individuals with autism is currently unknown. Genetic predisposition to autism spectrum disorder (ASD) has been highlighted in various studies and mutations in genes that affect nervous system function can drive both behavioural abnormalities and GI dysfunction in autism. Neuroligin-3 (NLGN3) is a postsynaptic membrane protein and the R451C missense mutation in the NLGN3 gene is associated with ASD. Recent studies revealed that the NLGN3 R451C mutation induces GI dysfunction in autism patients as well as in mice but, the cellular localization and the effects of this mutation on NLGN3 production in the enteric nervous system (ENS) have not been reported to date. The intestinal mucosal barrier is the interface separating the external environment from the interior of the body. Mucosal barrier functions are directly regulated by the enteric nervous system. Therefore, ENS dysfunction can induce mucosal barrier impairments. An impaired intestinal barrier has been reported in autism patients, but neurally-mediated barrier dysfunctions have not been assessed in transgenic autism mouse models with an altered nervous system. The intestinal mucus layer is the outermost layer of the mucosa which separates the intestinal microbiota from the intestinal epithelium.
