Frauds have occurred in almost every country in the world, in almost every sector, including banking, insurance, telecom, automobile industry, health, and the list is endless. The growing focus on cross-border expansion, high levels of growth with internal processes not keeping pace and large number of new employees joining the organization are making most companies vulnerable to greater fraud risk in recent times. The IT hackers and fraudsters can pose a significant threat of a financial crime. Cyber-crimes, economic crimes, ethical crimes, falsification of accounts by showing inflated profits, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of confidential information, non- disclosure of material facts etc. are causing enormous harm to the rights and interests or the society. Every such corporate fraud is a heinous crime against humanity, as it adversely affects and ruins the fortunes of large segments of innocent people. There are several adverse consequences of financial crimes.

Bollywood stars have donned the turban to turn Sikh cool, Sikhs view the representation of the community in Bollywood as demeaning and have attempted to revive the Punjabi film industry as an attempt at authentic self-representation. This was the outburst of Mahatma Gandhi against rampant corruption in Congress ministries formed under 1935 Act in six states in the year 1937.1 The disciples of Gandhi however, ignored his concern over corruption in post-Independence India, when they came to power. Over fifty years of democratic rule has made the people so immune to corruption that they have learnt how to live with the system even though the cancerous growth of this malady may finally kill it. Politicians are fully aware of the corruption and nepotism as the main reasons behind the fall of Roman empire,2 the French Revolution,3 October Revolution in Russia,"4 fall of Chiang Kai-Sheik Government on the mainland of China5 and even the defeat of the mighty Congress party in India.6 But they are not ready to take any lesson from the pages of history. Watching Shakespeare‟s plays in theatre for the yester year English educated Indians has been a hobby. This infatuation with the greatest dramatist has led some Film directors to experiment on the themes of comedies and tragedies. In recent years, director Vishal Bhardwaj holds the credit of adapting themes of his great tragedies to contemporary situation and work wonder through his experimentation. Maqbool is a 2003 Indian crime drama, an adaptation of the play Macbeth. The film had its North American premiere at the 2003 Toronto International Film Festival and was screened in the Marché du Film section of the 2004 Cannes Film Festival. Bhardwaj then moved on to adapt Othello in his 2006 film Omkara which won him commercial as well as critical success and Francis Ford Coppola's attention. Haider is the third installment of Bhardwaj's Shakespearean trilogy. The film is a modern-day adaptation of William Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet, set amidst the insurgency-hit Kashmir during conflicts of 1995 and civilian disappearances. The film was screened at the 19th Busan International Film Festival and released worldwide on 2 October 2014 to wide critical acclaim, and garnered attention from the media due to its controversial subject matter.     Postcolonial Text, Vol 13, No 3 (2018) Indian Cinema, Postcolonialism, and Social Justice: An Interview with Nandita Das1 Manav Ratti Salisbury University, Maryland, USA Introduction Nandita Das (b. 1969) is one of India’s most eminent filmmakers and actors, renowned in particular for her work in art cinema (or parallel cinema, as it is also called in India), the genre of pioneering filmmakers Ritwik Ghatak (1925-1976), Satyajit Ray (1921-1992), Mrinal Sen (b. 1923), and Tapan Sinha (1924-2009). Das (Figure 1) has, in some respects, pursued an unconventional path into the Indian film industry, for it is not her first professional pursuit, and she does not hail from a film family (distinguished in their fields, her father, Jatin Das, is a painter; and her mother, Varsha Das, is a writer). Born in Mumbai and growing up in New Delhi, Das worked with NGOs for several years before entering the film industry, building on her Master’s degree from the Delhi School of Social Work in the University of Delhi. Her work has gained recognition and respect for its uniqueness, urgency, awareness, and authenticity. Known for her social justice advocacy, Das’s national and international commitments span a range of issues, such as violence against women, children’s rights, HIV/AIDS, poverty, and interreligious harmony. She has supported India’s “Dark is Beautiful” campaign, which raises awareness about colourism, a form of prejudice and discrimination that devalues darker skin colours while privileging lighter ones.
